A couple of years ago Jo Winwood and I collected data from a wide range of professionals in diverse roles exploring their views on working together for the benefit of the child. 📊 We’re proud to be a part of the Working Lives of Teachers and Leaders survey on behalf of the Department for Education. Our wave 1 findings were published in 2023, followed by the recent publication of the wave 2 summary report. This ongoing longitudinal study engaged over 10,000 teachers and leaders in English state schools. It focuses on important areas such as workload, wellbeing, flexible working arrangements, attitudes to pay, experiences of professional development, and future career intentions. We also surveyed those who had stopped teaching or leading in an English state school between wave 1 and wave 2, to explore how their circumstances had changed since they had left. By analysing data from both waves, we were able to identify changes in attitudes and experiences between the two years, aiding the Department for Education in understanding evolving trends within the English state school sector.
