Dheepan Thangavelu, Vice Chairman, Sri Shakti Group of Institutions ➣ In a typical four-year study program, students often concentrate heavily on their studies during the sixth semester, coinciding with upcoming job placement drives. This presents an ideal opportunity to integrate short-term courses into our learning management model. By introducing these courses at this critical juncture, we can help students acquire essential skills that enhance their employability. Short-term courses represent the future of education, playing a vital role in bridging the skill gap and equipping students with the practical knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce. #EletsWES #WESChennai2024

Short titbit of insight about #transnationaleducational (TNE) paradigm /models....Not repeating the two veteran's insights of Shankar Muralidharan sir and Avinav Sharma sir, here are my 3 cents from the vantage point of consulting in #highereducation, #edtech #education 💡 "Make in India, Teach the World", where India can position itself as a global education hub by combining its intrinsiccost advantage and expertise in STEM fields (especially in MENA economies) 💡 Cultural Exchange: Programs like NEP 2020 encourage foreign universities to set up campuses in India while promoting Indian education abroad. 💡 EdTech Amplification: Leveraging India's strong edtech base can fast-track global TNE initiatives. What else am I missing here? P.S: As Shankar Muralidharan sir refered to the starting piece of the famous Kipling's poem, let me continue that and close with his equally famous lines "But there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth, When two strong men stand face to face, though they come from the ends of the earth!" In this case, lets replace men with Universities'/HEIs :-) :-)

It has been 2.5 decades in career counselling, Test Prep and Higher Education, very happy to be conversing frequently with Avinav Sharma, Suresh P and a few other highly like minded people who are seriously concerned with the quality of higher education in India- around 50,000 colleges and 1200 Universities- and yet, what we always needed so desperately is a lot of twinning/ immersion/ joint and other kind of exchange programs where Indians can explore some time Overseas and Vice Versa. The MBA/ PGDM market was at a point of inflexion 25 years back when I began my career as a young employee at IMS Learning center and spent a decade there under Mr Nilsar. International immersions now stand at the same stage with UGC's magnanimous policies, its high time we, as Indians, contribute to Viksit Bharat and genuine nation building by sending our students overseas for 4 years/ 4 months / 4 weeks/ at least 4 days 😊 and so on for the student to get the best of East and West, to prove Rudyard Kipling temporarily wrong 😊 and most imp- to avail the irreplaceable and inimitable benefits of interdisciplinary learning, enhanced ecosystem and yes- vision and values building !! I agree when Ben Ho mentioned that career planning should take place early on (at 15 years of age, according to him). However, as Higher Learning Institutions only have 3-4 years with students, "early" for us means the first year of study. That's GECC@UM is introducing a new model to guide UM students' career development beginning with Discovery in Year 1, Exploration in Year 2, Engagement in Final Year and Placement upon Graduation. This enculturation into career development will need a concerted effort from the parties involved. #UMGECC #shapingbrightcareers
Celebrating 15 Years of Talentbank | Trusted Partner to FORTUNE 500 Companies for Employer Branding & Recruitment | Investor Looking to Fund Growing Companies in Recruitment & Education | Hosting 50+ Career Fairs in 2025
If you have children receiving their #SPMresults today, I invite you to read this. I didn't perform well in my SPM results, failing Biology, Chemistry, and barely passing Physics. I also failed Sejarah. However, if your children are in a similar situation, remember it's not the end of the world; it's just the beginning of a long journey ahead. I chose the science stream because I "believed" it suited me and I wanted to be among the best. This is a common misconception! Both science and arts streams are valuable choices, depending on your children's career aspirations. I firmly believe that career planning should start as early as 15 years old. Young teenagers should be exposed to various careers and understand which paths interest them the most. At Talentbank, a leader in graduate employability, we've expanded beyond providing solutions for final-year students to help them secure meaningful careers. We've evolved into an organisation that advocates for early career planning, starting from the SPM level or even earlier, around 15 years old, before students choose between the science and arts streams. Remember, whether your children chose the right or wrong stream or didn't achieve the desired results in the SPM2023 announcement, this is not the end of the world. If your children have enough credits for university enrolment, congratulations! I encourage you to refer to our "2024 University Enrolment Guide" to explore universities that can enhance their job prospects upon graduation. If your children did not perform well, consider alternative study or career paths. There are many TVET options available, or perhaps they could pursue professional certificates that can also land a job with decent pay. We are pleased to share the "2024 University Enrolment Guide for School Leavers" to assist with your enrolment planning. This guide is based on the honest feedback of approximately 700 individuals representing organisations of all sizes. 2024 Leading Public Universities 1. University of Malaya 2. Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) 3. Universiti Putra Malaysia 4. Universiti Sains Malaysia 5. Universiti Teknologi MARA 2024 Leading Private Universities 1. Sunway University 2. Taylor's University 3. Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) 4. Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS For a complete listing of the top universities in Malaysia, browse talentbankgroup.com/eca. Please note that these employability ratings are based exclusively on Talentbank's annual survey of over 700 graduate employers regarding employability outcomes. Photo credit: UMMAHToday

While universities offer a broad-based education with a wide range of subjects, B-schools specialize in business and management education. This focused approach provides students with in-depth knowledge, practical training, and industry connections. Here are some key differences between B-schools and universities: • 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐦: B-schools offer a specialized education with a strong focus on business and management, whereas universities provide a more general education with a broader range of subjects, allowing students to explore various fields and disciplines • 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: B-schools often have strong ties with the industry, providing students with opportunities for internships, placements, and networking, whereas universities may have connections with various industries, but the focus is more on academic research and collaboration. • 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞: B-schools tend to focus on practical, experiential learning, while universities may emphasize theoretical foundations. • 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬: B-schools typically prepare students for careers in business and management, while universities offer a broader range of career options. Ultimately, whether you choose a B-school or a university, the key is to select an institution that aligns with your career goals and provides you with the skills and knowledge you need to succeed. On a personal note, I completed my MBA from AIMS IBS B-School , a reputable B-school that has been ranked among the top 20 B-schools in South India by Times of India B-school Survey. My experience at AIMS IBS provided me with a strong foundation in business and management, as well as valuable industry connections and practical training. #BSchool #University #BusinessEducation #ManagementEducation #CareerDevelopment #Education

🌟Attention B-School Aspirants! If you're gearing up to take admission into your dream B-School this year, I know exactly how you're feeling. Just last year, I was in the same boat—navigating the post-CAT chaos, trying to figure out the big question: "What’s next?" The journey doesn’t end after CAT; in fact, it gets even tougher. But here’s a little advice from my experience that might help: 💡Too much advice: You’ll hear a lot of opinions from people. Listen carefully but focus on finding the right mentor who can guide you. 💡Not just IIMs: IIMs are great, but don’t miss out on other good colleges. Choose what matches your goals, not just what others are doing. 💡Manage your time: Interviews and preparation need proper planning, so stay organized. the campus, but your future depends a lot on how strong the alumni support is. I’m currently pursuing my MBA at Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) , and I’d be happy to share what I know about the journey. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. All the best for your interviews. Stay focused, choose wisely, and make your dream come true! #aftercat #bschool #mba #iimguy

Hello everyone! It's been a week since I joined DMSIE, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad 💫and it's been quite the adventure for me. As an MBA student, I'm excited for the months ahead, which I know will be full of learning and growth. 📈 Here's a quick summary of my journey so far:⚡️ 1️⃣Meet-up sessions: We had a great time getting to know each other, introducing ourselves, and learning about our different backgrounds. 🎓 2️⃣Unpacking and settling in: After unpacking our bags 💼 and organizing our stuff in our hostels 🏨, we were ready to jump into the program. 3️⃣Icebreaking sessions: Our seniors organized a fantastic session that helped us bond and understand the challenges ahead. We got to know them better and gained valuable insights. 💡 4️⃣Orientation program: The departmental introduction was truly inspiring. We met our alumni, who shared their experiences, and our professors, who told us their expectations. One piece of advice from a professor really stuck with me: "Live the present and work on it – your future will automatically be great." I also believe in living in the moment and improving ourselves is one of the best things.😇 5️⃣Departmental and college committee introduction: This session was super fun! We learned about different committees and showed off our talents through activities like dance, singing, and poetry. Our seniors joined in, and we had a great time.🥳🤩 6️⃣Regular classes: We're diving into learning and exploring new perspectives on the business world. 🧑🏻💻👩🏻💼 7️⃣Profile building Session: I would like to thank our Alumni Prabhat Tyagi, who took this session for our batch MBA’26 and guided us in building our profile and resume.📑 That's my first week in a nutshell! It's been a great start, and I can’t wait to see what’s next! 🤩 #MBAJourney #IITDhanbad #StudentLife #NewBeginnings #ExcitedForTheFuture #DMSIE #LearningAndGrowth #FirstWeek #Orientation #CampusLife #Finance #Operations #Marketing
