When EPI teachers return to their home country, they serve as ambassadors, creating unique and invaluable cultural connections between the USA and countries around the world. The relationships built with their schools and communities serve as a powerful tool in encouraging mutual understanding and respect. Mandarin teacher Yun from China enthusiastically shares how her experience in EPI's program has empowered her to take the next step in her journey as an educator: "EPI's guidance and assistance have been invaluable. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to foster connections and friendships between the United States and China. This role aligns perfectly with my goal to nurture global leaders and serve our communities for a better future. I recommend other outstanding educators to collaborate with EPI. Their dedication to promoting cultural exchange and educational excellence is truly commendable, and I am grateful to be a part of this inspiring journey." If you want to see the future of economic development firsthand, this picture represents it. If you want to understand the passion and commitment to this profession coming from the next generation of leaders, reach out and meet with them. I cannot talk enough about their leadership and vision, so much ahead for each and every one of our Emerging Leaders Advisory Committee members.
This is my 3rd year serving on International Economic Development Council’s Emerging Leaders committee and we are starting the IEDC annual conference with a bang! This afternoon, we connected with IEDC board members to hear their career advice and we held our annual in-person meeting. A huge shoutout to Maria Berg-Stark , Zach Gilmore and LeRon Wilson for all the coordination.

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 🚀🚀 Proud to support European Women on Boards (EWOB)’s Board Readiness Program, where excellence meets opportunity. Why do we still need these initiatives in 2024? Because: ‼️ While women make up 17.4% of board members (DAX, MDAX, SDAX) in Germany, there is 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐞 (!) 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐄𝐎 of a DAX 40 company: Belén Garijo (CEO of Merck). ‼️ While the proportion of women on supervisory boards (DAX, MDAX, SDAX) is 36.1%, in Germany there are 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐱 𝐟𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 of supervisory boards of the 160 listed companies. Key facts above: Lea-Sophie Cramer 🙌🏻
36 women from Belgium, Turkey, Germany, Ireland, Iran, Greece and many other countries are coming together for the first time. 💫 We are very proud to welcome the 4th cohort of EWOB Board Readiness Program (BRP)! This 3-month experience is both tactical preparation for future board positions and an opportunity to build a supportive network, committed to being strong advocates for each other, and unabashedly visible. 🌟 Excited to participate as a Panelist! 🌟 I had the incredible opportunity to participate as a panelist in the recent webinar on Opportunities & Challenges in Learning and Development of Security Professionals organized by the International Foundation for Protection Officers IFPO MENASA on May 28, 2024. During this engaging session, we delved into various critical topics, including: 🔹 The impact of emerging variables and crises on approaching security risk management and how this affects recruitment requirements in the private security field. 🔹 The role of security personnel in their own professional improvement. 🔹 Overcoming barriers to developing competencies in the security sector. 🔹 Professional development for private security personnel: What are the certified and available online training programs? 🔹 The responsibility of organizations in improving the competency level of private security personnel and the barriers faced. 🔹 Current trends in the security industry from conferences, products, academic research, and more. It was an honor to contribute to this important conversation, sharing insights and discussing strategies for enhancing professional development in our field. The dynamic exchange of ideas highlighted the direction of professional development for security personnel and explored the approved and available online development programs. Thank you to the IFPO MENASA - المؤسسة الدولية لضباط الحماية, Nadeem, Issam, and my fellow panelists Meshal, Ali, and Habib for such a fruitful discussion.
