I help game developers improve the diversity & authenticity of their voice casting through multi location voice production.
Prediction: More game devs will increase their External Development. They'll start to view working with more external partners as a real, powerful alternative to ramping up large in-house teams. - Better manage risk - More flexibility with staffing - Skill-set ramp up / ramp-down - Access hard to find skills / elite level talent - Cost saving / budget management - Protect internal focus / resources The hope: This will lead to growth in the ExDev market with jobs being created to accommodate those effected by industry layoffs. Thoughts? #GameDev #ExternalDevelopment

The 5 skills every engineer needs to stay relevant (it’s not only about the code) I don’t know what the future will bring Market crash and businesses going bust AI taking over engineering More cuts and layoffs Or it can be the complete opposite One is clear We need more than code to thrive → Adaptability → Time management → Emotional intelligence → Communication → Learning You can rise to new challenges With time for yourself and your family You work in synergy with your team and manager When you need new skills, you take no time to get them Tough market what? Which one do you like the most?

I once worked at a startup that was failing, and it was failing badly. They were losing customers and underwent multiple rounds of layoffs. I remember feeling powerless since I had no control over my employment, but I did have control over my skills. So, I set aside time on my calendar to do LeetCode kept track of it started refining my interviewing skills, and eventually landed a better job. If this resonates with you and you are in a similar situation or you just want to refine your LeetCode skills join us in the 30-day challenge of learning LeetCode patterns; drop your email in the comments ;). We are already on Day 3!

Jr. Devs, It’s time to talk about the elephant in the room. We all know it’s happening and we all are just trying to either ignore it or avoid it. It’s time to talk about layoffs. This is one of the hardest and, honestly, one of the more painful topics to discuss but we really need to take some time to understand it better so that we can be informed and better prepared to handle it when it happens to us or to others on our team. I hate layoffs, but they are a reality that we can’t ignore or avoid, so, if you’re willing to dive into the subject perhaps a little further than you thought possible, check out the short 9 part series I just dropped this morning over on the DevMentorDave YouTube channel. https://lnkd.in/eGQtiS5Z I know this may end up being a little controversial, but I hope you understand that my goal is to help you think through the whole situation so that you can better prepare yourself and perhaps others in the future. I’m sure it isn’t as exhaustive as I would like but I tried to cover all of my thoughts on the topic at the time. If you have any thoughts, comments, or questions, feel free to leave them here or on the videos. Layoffs don’t define you and they don’t have to be the worst thing in your life if you are prepared to handle them when they come! #juniordeveloper #mentoring #layoffs

In these difficult times, with so many layoffs happening in the tech industry, it's hard to know if you'll be able to find a new job in this perpetual phase of hiring freezes. What are the chances of getting hired? I Don’t Know. . . But . . I know one thing for sure that your skills are something that no company can take away from you. Something that my mother has taught me & I will always be grateful to her specially for this one. "In tough times, when nothing goes your way & things are not in your control, there is only one thing that you can control, i.e. To keep working on your skills & personal development” So, today I decided to take one step towards my personal growth by focusing on my skills and development. I'm excited to share my latest project: a framework agnostic "Loading Percentage Bar Widget" built using Vanilla JavaScript, HTML & CSS. By contributing to my personal GitHub instead of a company's, I'm investing in myself and my future. As a Frontend Engineer, getting back to the basics and continuously improving is crucial. So, keep improving, keep growing, and keep learning. Here is the GitHub url: https://lnkd.in/dDp8X8_n #javascriptdeveloper #coding #frontendengineer #vanillajs #github #layoffs #backtobasics
