How can higher education foundations and institutions improve value? Jeff Selingo shared his research-based advice to AGB Foundation Leadership Forum attendees: 1. Lean into skills to renew the value of the degree. Research shows that the biggest wage premiums come from foundational skills like influencing and project management. 2. Improve the student experience. Higher education can be a complicated maze for many students. Break down those silos at your institution and concentrate on student mentorship and personal feedback. 3. Prepare for a new learning economy. Our economy needs life-long learners. Boards and institutions need to be prepared to support multiple generations of learners through collaboration with other institutions and with external partners.
