🌍 Transformative Journeys: Witnessing Innovation and Ambition Rehan School, Karachi
Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Rehan School on the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan. This was not just a journey across miles, but a deep dive into a hub of youthful ambition and innovation under challenging circumstances.
🚀 Empowerment through Education and Technology
The students at Rehan School, coming from low-resource areas, are not just learning about technology; they're mastering it to build futures they've dared to dream of. What struck me the most was their focus on sustainability and the use of AI tools not just for academic projects but to forge real-world businesses aimed at global markets.
💡 Big Dreams in the Making
One of their goals? To build businesses worth over a million dollars before graduation. It sounds ambitious, but their unrelenting conviction makes you a believer. Despite limited resources, these students are leveraging their skills to create services and products for a global audience, turning challenges into stepping stones.
🌐 A Call to Support and Collaborate
Their journey is a powerful reminder of how education can transform lives, especially when combined with the right tools and opportunities. Let's think about how we can support such initiatives, whether through mentorship, investment, or technology partnerships. If the students reach out to interview you, say "YES!"
As I left the school, I carried with me not just fond memories but a renewed belief in the power of determination and vision. These students are not waiting for change; they are driving it.

For those that know me, you recognize LEGACY as one of the Seven eLements of Leadership! Below Ryan Manion beautifully summarizes a commencement address that asked that very question. Be it through high school, college or your career, what will your LEGACY be? What will people (friends, team members and your family) remember about YOU?

Last night I walked on stage to a packed house at Temple University’s Liacouras Center to deliver the commencement address to the class of 2024 at Franklin Towne Charter School in Northeast Philadelphia.
My message to them was a simple question-

Did Bruce Lee get it wrong?
At tonight’s graduation of Raha International School, Gardens Campus class of 2024 Michael Bloy spoke about how we don’t need to “be like water” - we need to look at life like velcro.
The metaphor that "life is like Velcro" portrays life as a series of random hooks and loops, emphasizing the idea of #connections and attachments formed through seemingly coincidental interactions. This view highlights the importance of the #relationships and encounters that shape our lives, often in unexpected ways. It suggests that our paths are significantly influenced by the connections we make, much like how Velcro's strength lies in the random hooks and loops coming together to create a bond 💪
Both metaphors provide valuable insights into navigating life. Bruce Lee's "be like water" offers guidance on maintaining inner #flexibility and strength, while the "life is like Velcro" metaphor underscores the significance of our #interactions and #relationships in shaping our experiences.
Together, they present a comprehensive view that values both personal adaptability and the power of #connections.
Good luck graduates 🎓
