Introducing the first of our video series, Wellness from Within!
Wellness is the first of our four core values, and is instrumental in our success as an organization. While we certainly prioritize wellness for our patients, we believe that it truly starts with the employees before it can carry down to those we serve.
In this short episode, Camille shares her take on wellness and explains her journey from competitive dance to weightlifting and bodybuilding.

My name's Camille Baxley. I've been at Eduro for a little bit over a year and I'm the executive assistant. In a nutshell, my job looks like doing a lot of office administrative work, keeping the office just running smoothly and doing things such as coordinating travel and setting up lunches. Competitive dancing was really my life from about, I'd say like six years old to 18 years old. I did competitive dance in studio growing up and it really was just like my passion. It gave me a sense of like, I'm working towards something. My first year in college, I did join the Weber State dance team and we were fortunate enough to end up winning the D1 Nationals Hip Hop Championship, and that was like an experience of a lifetime. So after I, you know, stopped competitive dancing, I kind of just retired. It was really, really hard for me. It was like this piece of my life was missing. And naturally when you lose something that takes up that much time in your life. I slowly started to replace that with the next thing that I, you know, felt I was passionate about and that was weightlifting and strength training. Weightlifting is similar to dancing and the fact that you are putting in the hours and work every single day for something bigger down the line. You know, my dad was a little bit into that growing up, so it wasn't something that was new to me and I've always been a little bit like interested in it, but it wasn't until I like realized that I am putting in all of this time. And training and effort. Anyways, I just figured why not? And yes, it scares me, but also excites me. And so that's why I was just finally just ready to to dive in. And it's a big financial commitment, you know, with the nutrition that goes into it, the gym memberships, signing up to get a coach and we're going to work towards, you know, some more specific training and hopefully compete sometime in 2025. It's really taxing and it's really demanding and so. Those are just a couple of the things that, you know, kept passing through my head telling me why I shouldn't do it. You know, I've had the best support system. My husband is amazing. He was like, yeah, that's fine. You know, we're just gonna wait a little bit till our finances are better. And come to find out, he did put together like a secret fund for me to, to get a coach. Yeah. And I think it was like, the next day after he told me, you know, he had the funds for me to get a coach, I I reached out to the lady I was talking to and. Signed up for later date in October to begin and hopefully we're going to be on track to get a competition down in some time of 2025. Since committing to that decision, I honestly just feel like a huge weight off my shoulder. And that's how I know that I made the right decision is because again, it was something that was just like sitting on my shoulders, like should you do this or should you not? And so after I just said, yeah, I'm going to do it. It's definitely helped me to build up some motivation and almost like a new sense of excitement. For the sport and just what's to come. Now, every day that I go to the gym and definitely I feel like I'm putting more purpose into what I'm doing, knowing that I'm working towards something very specific. And Wellness to me is acknowledging that and acknowledging what those parts of your body need every single day and just taking care of yourself to be the best person that that you can be. It's really just being in tune with yourself and your body. Any passion or hobby that you dedicate yourself to, I do believe it makes you a better person and employee. And for me, like bodybuilding, it's really taught me a sense of like discipline that I feel like I carry over to work aside from like placement on stage. My goal is to just have that sense of like achievement, I guess. I want to go through the process and complete it, whether that means winning anything or not. I just want to be proud of myself after four doing it and for sticking with it and putting in the work every single day that required me to get to that spot.
