World Teachers' Day! Every lesson you teach goes beyond textbooks... Being a teacher is a lifelong identity that touches every part of your life. It’s not just about teaching the curriculum; it’s about shaping students into individuals who can face the world with values and confidence. When teaching is in your heart, it shows in everything you do—how you speak, how you act, and how you connect with your students. It's a divine art. It’s not just about knowledge or qualifications; it’s about feeling the responsibility of creating a better world by guiding those in front of you on the right path. It’s about motivating and inspiring them, recognizing their unique levels, and accepting them as they are. A teacher’s intervention can lift even a struggling student to new heights, shaping their future both academically and emotionally. Proud to be a teacher, to inspire and guide the lives of many. #WorldTeachersDay #ShapingTheFuture #InspiringMinds #MakingADifference

Bringing Radical Insights to the Fore in Education & Organizational Skillsets | Fostering Thoughtful Learning and Self-Awareness | HOD (D&T) | Artist
The question 'Would I like having myself as my teacher?' is powerful in its simplicity. It cuts directly to the core of self-assessment. Consciously considering this question, a teacher will consistently embody the principles of effective teaching, becoming the kind of educator they would respect and appreciate. This self-query alone generates continuous improvement and drives excellence in teaching, as it compels educators to critically evaluate their methods and interactions from a student’s perspective. #SelfReflection #EducationalExcellence #TeacherDevelopment #ContinuousImprovement #EffectiveTeaching #ProfessionalGrowth #EducationLeadership #ReflectivePractice #TeachingQuality #StudentPerspective

Passionate about teaching, learning & assessment in Higher Education. #SOTL #FaithLed PhD student HE research at Lancaster University
One of my go to authors is Lee S. Shulman. Here in an excerpt from Truth and Consequences in Teacher Education (2023) he writes, To understand teaching fully, one must understand its consequences. The most intellectually impressive and culturally sensitive teaching meant little if it did not yield desirable consequences for students. Yes, philosophers of education were correct that teaching occurs whether or not it is accompanied by student learning. As Gary Fenstermacher taught me, a runner is racing whether or not she wins. Nevertheless, accomplished teaching had better lead to learning and / or development among students or it could not be deemed as accomplished practice.... Elegant thought and pedagogical practice needed to be accompanied by student learning. Consequences matter. https://lnkd.in/ehw5Nca4
