Choose the right ones. When it comes to self care, another way to promote it is to hang around the right people. Let's be real, not everyone is going to support us affirm us, help us, speak well over us. Truth be told, they are not taking care of themselves. If they are not taking care of themselves nor have any concept of self-care, what makes us think they are going to help us? We have to meticulously choose the people we want in our life who are authentic, talk up, help us do the work, hold us accountable, encourage us and more. This is the season where we can no longer support dysfunction and destruction. Sound the alarm and uphold the standard of health, wholeness, and righteousness in our lives. We are never defeated in this season because we are going to take action and ensure the right people are with us in the same endeavor in both word and deed. GET TO WORK! #selfcare #hangwiththerightpeople #neverdefeated #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth

Why is it that we don't talk about the emotional burden or care-giving? The grief, the guilt, the helplessness, the joy, the relief, the overwhelm... The professional persona that we forge at medical school is often one where vulnerability doesn't feature. But what if we created spaces to have these conversations? What if we modelled humanity and empowered others to do the same? I tried to capture some of these thought in this article. Feedback and comments are welcome. Let's start a conversation. https://lnkd.in/eyeXyD3D #MedEd #Healthcare #wellbeing #mentalhealth
