Through Dr. Clark (and others) research on the men and women of the Congregation of Holy Cross, they identified attributes each possessed and exemplified in their work. These 7 Attributes of Holy Cross leaders are: 1. Zeal 2. Piety 3. Humble Servant Leadership 4. Competence to See 5. Courage to Act 6. Entrepreneurial Magnamity 7. Accompaniment Reflecting on the men and women I've encountered in the Congregation of Holy Cross these attributes are at the very core of the stories I carry with me and share when people ask what makes Holy Cross College special. It's the example set by the religious lived out in the lay men and women leading and working to carry on the mission. There's not a book, yet, on Holy Cross leadership - but there are more chances to hear about "Leading the Holy Cross Way" in the coming weeks at the public lecture series held on Football Friday's at 1:30. One of the greatest challenges in local churches is when unqualified people lead, and no one speaks up. Scripture provides clear qualifications for church leadership. Ignoring them is not only direct disobedience to God but also leads to a church adrift, vulnerable to false teaching and biblical illiteracy. If you’re in leadership, make sure you’re qualified. If you’re seeking leadership, seek qualified leaders. And if you’re in a church with unqualified leaders, speak up—graciously and truthfully. If nothing changes, reconsider your support for that church.

It's not always about you. You shortchange yourself when you live for yourself alone. Those who live for others live forever. An ideal Vision should prioritize the well-being and betterment of people. It's your contribution in the Grand Scheme of things. Even God's vision is about people - Jn 3:16. Living to make an impact is superior to living to make an income, because those who raise others cannot be erased. Effective Leadership is about influencing and serving others. Ministry itself is about people - Ministering. We live in the world of men, and the quantity and quality of positive influence on others is what ultimately determines our impact. If you are not a people's person, your leadership potentials might not find expression. Live a life that positively impacts on others, by focusing on contributions to the greater good.
