Hello everyone,
I'm a beginner-level Dynamo user, and my capstone project focused on automating cost data extraction from Revit models using Dynamo. The project started with setting up the Revit model, where I created shared parameters (instance-based) for itemized costs. Each object in the model was assigned relevant quantity-based type parameters like each, cost per square meter for areas, cost per linear meter for lengths, and cost per cubic meter for volumes.
I developed two Dynamo scripts to streamline this process. The first script collected all relevant quantity parameters and their associated cost rates, generating the itemized cost for each element by multiplying the quantity parameters by their respective cost rates. The second script extracted the elements' types and their associated cost data into Excel.
(I have shared the existing script here for better clarity, this needs to be integrated with the following)
While I was able to generate the element quantities and their costs, I struggled to integrate the cost calculations for rebars and formwork. Can anyone suggest how to approach this? Any ideas and suggestions are welcome! 💡
