𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞-𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 At Pragya, we believe in the power of #community-led climate action. Within a span of two days- we reached farmers across S24 Parganas in West Bengal & Sonitpur in Assam, both situated in Eastern India, through our four biannual Climate Smart Agricultural Conclaves. These areas frequently face #flooding and other natural calamities, such as #cyclones, as well as occasional #drought-like conditions and heat waves. Through hands-on learning and interactive sessions, farmers developed the skills to tackle the increasing challenges of climate change, including unpredictable monsoons and extended dry spells. Together, we explored sustainable farming methods like #intercropping, mixed cropping, and stress-tolerant crops while also focusing on #organic seed treatment and integrated nutrient management. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: - Practical modules on #Dapog nurseries, #hydroponics, and poly mulching were taught. Tools like the Happy Seeder, paddy Transplanter and Hand Ridger were demonstrated along with multi-crop ridger planter and solar-powered sprayers. - Climate-Smart Agriculture Conclaves achieved an impressive 53% participation from women, empowering female farmers with opportunities in vegetable farming and vermicomposting for sustainable income generation. To overcome geographical barriers and ensure broader participation, especially for those in remote areas, we conducted these training sessions online as well. The result? Increased #awareness, better adaptation techniques, and stronger climate-resilient communities. We are proud of the farmers leading this #transformation. Together, we’re building a sustainable future! . #Pragya #ClimateAction #SustainableFarming #WomenInAgriculture #Pragya #ClimateSmart #EmpoweringCommunities #RuralDevelopment

These developments in Indian farms are set to impact our lives . Thought of sharing these as its bringing more people to farming due to lucrative new options. #Saffron, the world's most costly spice is now being grown in 10X10 rooms. Once known to grow only in #Kashmir, new age farmers are recreating the right conditions in their rooms to rake in the moolah. Pearl culture farming is another lucrative farming thats giving good returns and does not need acres to cultivate. Floriculture is giving a new dimension to farmers' fortunes. They are earning every day instead of being dependent once a few months #income. On the side note, 3 lakh hectares of land in Punjab and Haryana has come under a carbon credits program that will incentivise farmers for adoption of environmentally #sustainable #agriculture practices, a first of its kind initiative. More with me in #NEXTGENBHARAT, my TV show on the changes in modern India's agriculture sector . #india

In Nanded, Maharashtra, farmers have transformed their agricultural practices by switching to a modern seed dibbler machine, moving away from traditional, labour-intensive methods. Earlier, sowing seeds by hand was time-consuming. It led to uneven seed distribution, low crop density, and higher costs. Recognizing this, Reliance Foundation introduced seed dibbler machines. This mobile machine made planting easier with precise seed placement and spacing, reducing seed wastage. It led to higher crop yields, lower costs and improved economic stability for the farmers. The success of the seed dibbler machine brought change. Farmers share the tools with neighbouring farms. Reliance Foundation applauds farmers of Nanded for embracing innovation, demonstrating how technology increases productivity. It also creates collaboration for common goals. #RelianceFoundation #RuralTransformation #TransformationalTuesdays #RelianceFoundationTransformingLives #WeCare #SustainableAgriculture #CommunityImpact #FarmingInnovation #TechInAgriculture #SeedDibbler #AgriTech #FarmersOfIndia
