#8 Our last 3 layers, the network layer, data link layer and the physical layer. The network layer is primarily responsible for defining the physical path data gets transmitted. If 2 devices on the same network communicated, the network layer wont have a function. So essentially directing data and signals through a certain physical path aka routing is the purpose of the network layer. The Data-Link layer is quite similar to the network layer, and in terms of funtion it can be seen as a layer that handles the routing of data through the network. When it is receiving data from its preceeding layer, it is splitting it into frames that will be routed to their respective destinations. The phyiscal Layer, the (cables and binary layer). On the layer the electromangetic or optic signals that are sent and received on a network, operate on this layer. Data is converted into bits for transmssion & hence sent to respective destinations or received from various sources

NearFi is a contactless real-time transmission technology from Phoenix Contact. It enables the transmission of energy and data via an air gap. Thanks to protocol-independent and latency-free Ethernet communication, it opens up flexible application options for all Ethernet protocols up to 100 Mbit/s. NearFi thus offers an alternative to slip rings or plug connections for data and energy transmission in industrial applications. The new versions of the NearFi couplers from Phoenix Contact enable the range to be doubled for radio-based data transmission. They also offer double the power with automatic current compensation or the forwarding of two electrically isolated voltages (US/UA) by parallel connection. The successful data exchange is indicated by a visible LED ring from all positions. This makes the NearFi couplers as easy to use as a plug. The achievable range is doubled to up to 100 mm due to particularly high-performance radio boards during communication. The parallel connection of two NearFi coupler lines allows either the transmission of double the power (up to 100 W) or of two electrically isolated voltages (50 W US/UA each). The IP65 devices feature new standardized M12 connections (L/D-coded) with duo contour. This ensures flexible field wiring with classic M12 screw plug connectors or the push-pull quick-locking mechanism. you wonder about the difference between 10GbE and 10Gbase-T in nutshell, 10GbE is just a generic term for 10Gigabit Ethernet regardless of the transport media used(can be Ethernet or Fiber). while 10Gbase-T uses twisted pair copper media only(Shielded&Un-Shielded).
