Chris Atherton is attending the #TNC24 event in Rennes and shared the most recent updates on the #SUBMERSE project with a wide audience in a session that looks at emerging ways of using #NREN optical network infrastructure for quantum technologies, transfer of time and frequency services, and fibre sensing—what is happening under the sea. 🐟 To uncover the "Submerse Curiosity," Chris Atherton added that "there is a new set of sensing technologies built upon existing NREN infrastructures that are starting to appear significant to society. These can be used to provide insights into the world around us. Adding these technologies evolves the traditional role of an NREN as a research-enabling infrastructure, changing it into a research instrument as well. During his talk, it was clear to all the participants that new pathways are being taken to explore some of these innovative technologies and ways of working, investigating the opportunities for NRENs. Let’s keep innovation running and explore the new wave of development, to be curious and create something together. #TNC24, the largest and most prestigious research and education networking conference organized by GÉANT, attracts a diverse audience of over 800 participants from more than 70 countries and offers a unique collaborative experience. Congratulations to all Partners for the results achieved so far!
