Today on #worlddayagainstthedeathpenalty, we join voices around the world to stand for the inherent dignity of every person, even in the face of grave wrongdoing. The death penalty not only takes a life but denies the possibility of redemption and restoration. At RENEW, we believe in the sanctity of all life, and our book, "Dignity and the Death Penalty", offers a powerful reflection on how our faith calls us to defend life, advocate for justice, and uphold human dignity—even in the most challenging situations. Today, I want to take a moment to talk about what #reconciliation means to me as an #immigrant living in this beautiful country. 🌍 ✨Reconciliation is not just a word; it’s a journey that helps us understand and support the Indigenous communities we share this land with. Here’s why it’s so important: Understanding Each Other 🧠: Learning about the #history and #experiences of Indigenous peoples helps us connect and build empathy. It’s about seeing the world through their eyes. Healing Together 🌱: Acknowledging the painful #past is the first step toward healing—not just for Indigenous peoples, but for all of us. It helps us move forward together. Creating Inclusive Communities 🌈: When we listen to Indigenous voices, we make our communities #stronger and more #welcoming for everyone. Addressing Inequality 🏛️: By recognizing past #injustices, we can work together to break down #barriers that still exist today. Shared Responsibility 🤲: As newcomers, we have a unique role in this journey. We can help foster #understanding and #support reconciliation efforts. Inspiring Change Globally 🌍: Canada’s journey can inspire other countries to #embrace #reconciliation and #healing. Let’s commit to learning, listening, and taking action together! By doing so, we honor the land's first peoples and help create a brighter future for everyone. 🧡 #RECONCILIATIONJOURNEY #EVERYCHILDMATTERS #IMMIGRANTPERSPECTIVE
🧡 Honoring Truth and Reconciliation Day 🧡 Today, we reflect on the painful history of residential schools and stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities. Let's continue to listen, learn, and support the path to healing and reconciliation. #TruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay

Today, on September 30th, we pause to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. For Indigenous communities, this day is not only about remembering the past but also about fostering healing, understanding, and renewal. As an Indigenous-owned business, we stand in solidarity with Survivors and their families, as well as all those working towards meaningful reconciliation. This day reminds us of the importance of acknowledging the truth and taking active steps to learn, listen, and support Indigenous voices. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is Call to Action #80 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action—one of only 13 completed actions. We encourage everyone to seek out resources, engage in conversations, and honor the spirit of reconciliation by educating themselves on the significance of this day, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action. Together, we can build a future grounded in respect, inclusion, and healing for all. /// Learn More About Truth & Reconciliation Beyond 94 - https://lnkd.in/girDBcdh What is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation? - https://lnkd.in/g8KnxV65 Truth and Reconciliation 94 Calls to Action Explained - https://lnkd.in/gdJ-dWas #TruthAndReconciliation #IndigenousVoices #OrangeShirtDay #EveryChildMatters #ReconciliationCanada

🧡 Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to honour the survivors, families, and communities affected by the residential school system. As an Indigenous person, this day holds profound significance. It's a day to reflect on the past, acknowledge the pain and injustices, and commit to a future where truth and reconciliation guide our actions. Let us all take this opportunity to educate ourselves, engage in meaningful conversations, and support Indigenous communities in their journey towards healing and empowerment. Together, we can build a future rooted in understanding, respect, and unity. 🧡 #TruthAndReconciliation #IndigenousVoices #EveryChildMatters
