Our new course is now available: Myeloid Neoplasms: Translating Omics to Diagnostic Tests. Prof Mead addresses the biological markers or prognostic factors in myeloid malignancies and their use in clinical practice to stratify patients’ outcomes while Prof Porkka highlights the potentialities of mathematical models using big data to provide prognostic indications, and the strategies and challenges associated with this approach. Looking to automate proteomic sample prep? Check out how University Medicine Greifswald used their Opentrons system to easily automate their mass spectrometry workflows!
Proteomics sample prep got you down? If your sample numbers have been creeping up, it might be time to delegate to a robot while you do something that couldn’t be done by a machine. See how Dr. Stephan Michalik at University Medicine Greifswald made sample preparation faster, cheaper, and less variable by creating an end-to-end automated mass spectrometry sample preparation protocol. To wrap up the week on a high note, we have exciting news for our premium users! 🍀 A new pre-built prediction model, designated for research use only (RUO), is now available in our Identification section. This module offers a specific model for identifying Mycobacterium abscessus subspecies (M. abscessus, M. bolletii, and M. massiliense) using MALDI-TOF data (Rodríguez-Temporal et al., 2023). Don't forget, in addition to using these pre-built models, you can also identify blind data using your own trained and validated prediction models 🙌 Discover more at: https://lnkd.in/dQf3gunG References David Rodriguez Temporal , D., Herrera, L., Alcaide, F., Domingo, D., Héry-Arnaud, G., Van Ingen, J., Van Den Bossche, A., Ingebretsen, A., Beauruelle, C., Terschlüsen, E., Boarbi, S., Vila, N., Arroyo, M. I am incredibly happy to share with you my first-author scientific publication on the analysis of the antiviral properties of ionic liquids! This is a huge milestone in my scientific career! #ionic #liquids #ACSPublication #JCIM #VirtualScreening #inSilico #scientific #paper
Did you know that ionic liquids can have antiviral properties❓ ▶︎ Researchers from the QSAR Lab: Szymon Zdybel, Anita Sosnowska Ph.D., Dominika Kowalska, Maciej Gromelski, and Prof. Tomasz Puzyn in collaboration with Patrick Mester Ph.D., Julia Sommer Ph.D., and Beate Conrady Ph.D., conducted a comprehensive experimental/in sillico study to determine potential new applications for ionic liquids. 🎯 The publication describes the experimental significance of three viruses: P100, MS2, and Phi6 for 154 ionic liquids and three classification models to determine whether an ionic liquid is active or not against one of the three viruses. In addition, the models were validated experimentally, confirming their effectiveness and the applicability of in silico methods for the rapid prescreening of ILs for their antiviral activity, with predictions of toxicity classes for more than 1270 ionic liquids. Ionic liquids have the potential to exhibit toxicity against viruses and could, therefore, be used as effective disinfectants. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have experienced the urgent need for effective agents and disinfectant strategies to combat the spread of the various viruses. The hybrid approach presented in this paper is an excellent alternative to lengthy and expensive experiments. The tests described in this paper are fast, cheap, and will reduce the use of living organisms to the required minimum, and can therefore be of great help in the development of new functional compounds. 🟢 We would like to warmly invite you to read this work! The paper is available under the link: https://lnkd.in/gDfuimTz #ionic #liquids #ACSPublication #VirtualScreening #inSilico

A recent study conducted a comparative analysis between pulsed-field #ablation (PFA) and very high power short duration (VHPSD) ablation. The findings indicated similar rates of arrhythmia-free survival for both techniques. Subsequent to the procedures, patients within the study cohort were remotely monitored using FibriCheck, allowing researchers to gather immediate data on potential recurrences.
