eHealth Queensland’s Post

Say it with us—I'm sepsis susceptible and susceptible to sepsis. 🗣️ This World Sepsis Day, our acting Deputy Director-General joined other Queensland Health staff in taking on the #SepsisChallenge to raise awareness about sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that arises when the body’s response to an infection damages its own tissues and organs. Sepsis can affect anyone—and any infection can lead to sepsis. ❗ Signs of sepsis in adults include: 👉 fast breathing or breathlessness 👉 fever and chills 👉 low body temperature 👉 low or no urine output 👉 Fast heartbeat 👉 nausea and vomiting 👉 diarrhoea. Learn more about the signs and symptoms of sepsis here: https://lnkd.in/gb8JTxqp If you think you or a loved one may have sepsis, trust your gut. Go straight to hospital and ask "could it be sepsis?" even if you have already been to the doctor. #WorldSepsisDay #SepsisAwareness
