If you recently applied to an advertised job vacancy, there is a high likelihood that your resume was first reviewed by an AI recruitment tool. The email suggesting that you have not been considered at this time might be nothing personal, just that the AI system didn’t match the required keywords on your resume or cover letter, and then concluded that you shouldn't be considered for next stages. Many less qualified people could get an interview opportunity because they understand how to insert keywords into their resumes and profiles, but you, a more qualified person, don’t even get a chance to be interviewed. As you plan your career move or job search in the new year, please focus on developing the required skills to do the job, but also be aware that an AI tool is now the gatekeeper to determine whether you will be allowed to demonstrate that you have the required skills.
