Emily Senerth, MS, MPH and colleagues' critical interpretive analysis of guidance and frameworks for systematic reviews in Environmental Health was deemed both important and useful by peer reviewers. In the realm of environmental science, the symbiotic relationship between human health and the natural environment is paramount. Neglect or maltreatment of our surroundings poses significant risks to both ecological stability and human well-being. A fundamental principle underscores that the degradation of environmental quality directly correlates with adverse health outcomes. Thus, it is imperative to acknowledge and uphold the intrinsic connection between environmental integrity and human health, as any negligence in environmental stewardship can precipitate hazardous repercussions on public health.

After some much needed personal travel, I came back to my column advocating for the increased use of participatory science practices in the environmental health field published in National Environmental Health Association's Journal of Environmental Health's Building Capacity section. Google’s English dictionary provided by Oxford Languages displays environmental health noun • the branch of public health concerned with monitoring or mitigating those factors in the environment that affect human health and disease.
