I believe this is the best overview of the perceived missteps by the Motor Company with their most loyal riders, and some really dumb statements from their CEO, previously CEO of Puma. Harley dominates the touring bike market, Sturgis and Daytona attract a staggering amount of attendee’s, most on HD’s, as a product company you always need to find ways to expand your market without pissing off your core clients, that is the artistry of marketing and C-Suite management. Will this pass, yes, will it be all be forgiven…doubtful, can Zeitz survive… doubtful. As a many, many, many, many time HD owner, my observations on HD are, their bikes are the best they have ever been, their motor clothes and riding apparel…premium pricing with poor quality, their bike parts over priced with better quality and pricing available elsewhere. Their warranty handling and administration of clear product issues…abysmal, which is why I buy elsewhere. Their dealer representation in the marketplace, excellent… and the dealers are generally pretty good! This is an interesting one to watch play out! However, the moral once again is know your customers!
