Vikrant Massey’s announcement to retire at 37 left me stunned. A career full of promise, at the peak of his success, and yet, he chooses to step away. It made me think. In the world of business and entrepreneurship, we’re often told to keep pushing, never to stop, and always chase the next milestone. But what if stepping back is the right choice? As a founder, I know how easy it is to get caught up in the race, to chase growth, recognition, and success without stopping to consider what you actually need. Sometimes, the best move isn’t the next big thing. Sometimes, it’s about knowing when to pause, reassess, and step away from what doesn’t serve you anymore. Vikrant’s decision reminds me that life isn’t just about the hustle—it’s about doing what feels right, even if it goes against the tide. Whether in acting or business, the pressure to keep going can be overwhelming. But sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is choose to walk away, no matter how young or successful you are.

$20m dollars for 16 minutes work! Mike Tyson's receiving this amount for his fight on Friday (or very early on Sat!) but it's NOT for 16 mins work....it's for his 58 years! This is the same as so many sectors (including consultancy) where the fees are not just for the product or solution we receive. It's for the years of knowledge, research and graft that produce the perfect result. Next time I think 'that's expensive', I'm going to really question whether I've truly valued the service/product fairly. And, more importantly, let's not be afraid to value ourselves, our time and our knowledge. #seniorrecruiter #knowledge #valueyourself

Fear of authority is something I come across in the corporate consulting work I do. It slows teams down and leads them to make poorer decisions while they try to read the minds of those they are fearful of. I drove down to Texas recently. On my way I came up on a state trooper doing 65mph in a 75mph zone. A half dozen other drivers were lined up single file behind the trooper and this situation was creating a bit of a hazard. I passed everyone and when they saw it was OK, they started pulling out behind me and passing as well. I'm pretty sure the Trooper didn't expect anyone else to do drive 10mph under the speed limit just because he was. The next time you find yourself trying to read the mind of your leader so you can do exactly what you want, take a different approach. Instead, consider what you need to accomplish and take steps to make it happen. You'll make better decisions and move faster and create more value as a result.

🐎 Happy 150th Kentucky Derby Day! 🎉 As we gear up for the thrill of the Kentucky Derby tomorrow, it’s a great opportunity to draw a fun parallel between this iconic race and our approach to financial planning. Why You Shouldn’t Gamble with Your Financial Future: Watching the Derby, we’re all reminded how exhilarating it is to pick winners based on the odds. But when it comes to securing your future, relying on luck isn't the strategy I'd recommend. Just as the most successful bettors at the Derby do their homework, effective financial planning requires insight and careful strategy. Think of me as your financial jockey, guiding you through the complexities of investing with the same diligence and expertise that trainers prepare their champion horses. Together, we’ll find the right investments—no long shots necessary! There is even a strategy I’m aware of that allows you to weigh your choice of 3 equity indices AFTER their relative performance is known, assuming you’re willing to invest longer-term with a commitment of 6 years or longer. Feel free to call me if you’d like to learn more about that. 🏇 Ready to take the reins on your financial future without leaving it to chance? Let’s chat and make sure your retirement plan is set for a photo finish. #KentuckyDerby150 #SmartInvesting #FinancialGoals #AllgoodFinancial

Ever wonder why dreams slip away? It's not lack of talent or bad luck. The real dream-killer? Obsessing over results. Here's the truth: You can't control outcomes. But you can control your journey. Imagine if Thomas Edison quit after his first failed lightbulb. Or if Oprah gave up after being fired as a news anchor. They didn't fixate on results - they fell in love with the process. So here's your mission: Stop chasing outcomes. Start embracing the journey. Pour your heart into each step, each day, each small victory. Let go of what you can't control. Remember: Greatness isn't built overnight. It's forged in the fires of persistence, resilience, and unwavering focus. Are you ready to unlock your potential? To push past the quitters and join the ranks of the extraordinary? Then stop watching the scoreboard and start loving the game. Your dreams are waiting. Will you answer the call?
