Just weeks into my journey at Einride, I’m thrilled to share a groundbreaking moment for the freight industry! 🚀 Today, Einride launches Europe’s first commercial autonomous daily operations, marking a huge leap forward in sustainable logistics. Together with apotea.se, we’re deploying autonomous heavy-duty vehicles for freight between their warehouses in Morgongåva, Sweden. This milestone builds on a strong two-year partnership, during which we’ve already saved 917,000 kg of CO₂—the equivalent of driving 20 laps around the Earth in an electric vehicle. Some key highlights: 🌍 First in Europe: Fully autonomous freight operations adjacent to a public road, made possible with a public road permit. 🤖 Cutting-edge tech: Our autonomous vehicle operates by leveraging a comprehensive sensor suite for a 360° view. Remote operators are on standby to ensure smooth operations. ⚡ Sustainability at scale: Apotea has already reduced emissions and boosted efficiencies with Einride’s electric solutions, and this step takes logistics optimization even further. I’m incredibly inspired by the dedication of both the Einride and Apotea teams in making this bold vision a reality. Kiilto, a manufacturer of household and professional chemicals, aimed to transition to environmentally friendly secondary packaging while enhancing the productivity and efficiency of their bottling line. Although investments had already been made in automating the beginning of the production line, full efficiency could only be achieved by automating secondary packaging and palletizing at the end of the line. The rumours are confirmed 🤝 apotea.se expands agreement with RightHand Robotics, Inc deploying RightPick™ Item-Handling System at their new DC in Varverg, Sweden. ➡️ In close collaboration with SSI SCHÄFER the RightHand Robotics RightPick™ item-handling system will be deployed, installed, and fully operating by 2025 to support Apotea’s increasing demand of online orders. ➡️The 323,000 sq. ft.facility will be the second Apotea warehouse that RightHand Robotics is automating. ➡️In 2022, Apotea implemented the RightPick platform in their facility in Morgongåva, Sweden, which now ships around 70,000 orders of medication and non-prescription products per day. ✅With their new investment in SSI’s solutions and continued trust in RightHand Robotics’ technology, Apotea expects to increase the number of orders per day processed at their Varberg warehouse by 50,000. “We are happy to have found a unique and tailor-made solution with RightHand Robotics technology for our warehouse in Varberg,” said Pär Svärdson CEO of Apotea. “We have worked with RightHand Robotics for a few years now and our initiatives for automation have substantially increased our efficiency.
