The VRC Board of Directors was significantly “lucky escape” when their deal with a Chinese Communist Party-owned “Greenland” deal on its surplus land not being needed for horse racing fell over; they lacked the experience of creating in Australia a “City within a City” destination and instead offered a tacky plan that would have destroyed the vital heritage of Flemington Race Track. Let us all hope the upcoming VRC Spring Carnival is a massive success. It deserves to be coming through a challenging period with the pandemic. To save the VRC, the new CEO must devise a plan that includes more than Pony Clubs and Dance parties.   It is time to pull rabbits out of the hat. VRC's track record includes entering a deal on surplus land not needed for its race track operations with the Chinese Communist Party-owned Greenland. One of its major urban projects in China, Greenland, has now reverted to farmland and is holding cattle. Meanwhile, in Australia, with Greenland incompetence --“People who bought into the Lachlan’s Line apartment complex in Sydney’s North were promised a “prestigious new community”. Now they have discovered the basement floors in all four blocks are at risk of collapse.”

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England fans face a scramble to get tickets for their semi-final clash with the Netherlands with some selling for up to €20,000 (£17,000) #ThreeLions supporters who do not secure tickets through official sites could have to part with thousands to have a chance of seeing #England take on the Dutch on Wednesday. And those who are lucky enough to get their hands on tickets will also face a hefty bill for accommodation, with three-star hotels selling the few rooms they have left at up to 16 times their usual prices. With just one game away from #Berlin and what would be England’s second consecutive #Euros final, fans will face tough competition to be among the 62,000 people who will be in the BVB Stadion Dortmund for the crucial match. On Sunday a ticket for a prime seat was selling for €19,780 (£16,500) on viagogo, with up to 7,500 people an hour viewing resales by the afternoon, hours before the England Supporters Travel Club ballot had even finished. On StubHub, tickets ranged from €749 (£635) to €16,530 (£14,000) for a VIP package, while on Ticombo, tickets started at €650 (£550), going up to €14,760 (£12,500) for a premium seat in a Skybox. Hotels are largely sold out in #Dortmund but the small number left in the city range between £515 for a double on Wednesday night to £1,749 for a one-bed apartment.
