The working groups are reviewing the final design specification and starting to figure out our next steps to implement it into the development process for the 4th edition of IEC 60601-1. The "train is rolling" forward and you should start thinking about the impact on your company. Leo’s 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 in the 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 including 𝗜𝗘𝗖 𝟲𝟬𝟲𝟬𝟭-𝟭, 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 current development work as: * co-convener of IEC TC 62/SC 62A/WG 39 – User Interfaces aspects (including all labelling and information to be provided), * expert member of WG 37 – General requirements: Develop requirements related to general issues with respect to underlying concepts (e.g., basic safety/essential performance, single fault safety, type testing, risk management), and * member of AG 50 - IEC 60601-1 Ed. 4.0 Editing Team and IEC 60601-1, edition 3.2, US co-chair of AAMI TAG 62D on electromedical equipment, US chair of AAMI EV-WG13 & IEC convener of IEC TC62 / SC 62D / JWG9 on Lens removal and vitrectomy equipment Photo of WG 37 members that met this week on 30 Apr - 1 May after a thoughtful, very lively, and respectful discussion on topics from the design specification and topics that were not originally considered that may apply for WG 37.
