Did you know the Minnesota Department of Education has Guiding Principles for AI in Education? They are the 19th state to create AI guidance for schools! A few highlights: "Promote AI literacy (how AI works and how it impacts the world around us) for all learners." "Centering people is a key recommendation. Schools can do this by providing differentiated professional learning opportunities for not only teachers, but all staff." "Wait to purchase AI tools until after specific needs are identified and a framework guiding uses of the technology is established." They also provide information on what AI is, why it matters, how it works, and how people can learn more about it. The state highlights guidance from St. Cloud District and Bloomington Public Schools. Congrats to Andrea Wilson Vazquez, Sarah Carter, Jeffrey Plaman, and the rest of the MDE team! https://lnkd.in/eq5eCjQ2 #TeachAI
