In just over a week, we’ll arrive at the final physical deep dive for Cohort 15! But we’re not waiting until June 17th to start sharpening their story. As we speak, Erik Luijts from The Floor is Yours is teaching the startups plenty of new techniques during his ‘Presenting with Impact’ workshop. This will skyrocket their storytelling abilities to new heights. They're not only learning new techniques but are also being challenged to explain their story in a concise way. 👉 Can you pitch your startup in under two minutes? It's crucial to present their stories in a way that really resonates, inspires, and makes sense - not just a stereotypical salesy or overly business-like pitch. By preparing for the online sessions, receiving feedback, and having time to implement it, Cohort 15 is set to amaze us with their pitches on demo day. 👋 If you'd like to join our demo day on June 20th at 6pm, reach out! 📩 hello@gobirdhouse.com. #storytelling #pitch #founders #tech #AgeTech AxonJay.ai, eargym, fabel, Good Life Sorted, Hyperfox, Lipefi (Techstars '23), Marple, navel robotics GmbH, Pal | Digital Palliative Care, Steadiwear Inc., Tenbeo

Absolutely thrilled to share my recent experience volunteering at the #INVENTURES 2024 event held from May 29th to 31st. It was an incredible journey filled with innovation, inspiration, and connections. One of the highlights of the event was meeting Ameca, the world’s most advanced humanoid robot. Seeing Ameca in action was truly awe-inspiring and highlighted the incredible advancements in AI and robotics. The session "Humanity Meets Machine: Interview with a Robot," where Ameca conversed with Alberta Innovates CEO Laura Kilcrease, was a captivating glimpse into the future of human-robot collaboration. The event featured a myriad of insightful sessions and presentations. A few that stood out were: "The Future of Sustainable Cities": This session delved into the innovations shaping our urban environments. Experts like Karina LeBlanc and Dr. John Lye discussed sustainable solutions for energy, transportation, and infrastructure to build smarter, greener cities. Pitch Competition: The startup pitch competition was a dynamic showcase of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation. It was inspiring to see so many creative ideas and solutions presented, and the energy was electric as startups competed for the top spot. Dr. Marcus Collins' Session: Dr. Marcus Collins delivered an engaging session on leveraging cultural insights for business growth. His expertise in understanding consumer behavior and brand strategy provided invaluable takeaways for all attendees. Volunteering at INVENTURES 2024 not only allowed me to engage with cutting-edge technology but also provided the opportunity to connect with some amazing people. The advice and takeaways from the event have been immensely enriching, both personally and professionally. Looking forward to leveraging these insights and connections to drive future innovations! #Innovation #Technology #Networking #INVENTURES2024 #AI #Robotics #SustainableCities #Entrepreneurship #FutureTech

Been a week since Inventures 2024, and I’m still buzzing with inspiration! As part of the Ministry of Technology and Innovation, I had the incredible opportunity to attend this groundbreaking event. Inventures 2024 was all about doing something new or innovating in ways that create real value. From quantum computing and AI to robotics and health innovations, the event brought together startups, ecosystem builders, and academia to push the boundaries of what's possible. One key takeaway: understanding people is the catalyst for true innovation. Connecting with individuals from diverse walks of life was the most rewarding part of my experience. Highlights included inspiring keynote speakers and impactful breakout sessions. Here are three tips to jumpstart your creativity from the event: 1. Turn towards fear. 2. Adopt the half-hour habit. 3. Let’s get physical. Also, a special shoutout to A-MEDICO for their inaugural annual meeting, which united industry experts and academia to advance discussions and collaboration in Alberta’s medical devices sector. Your efforts are paving the way for a brighter future in healthcare innovation. #Inventures2024 #Innovation #Technology #AI #Robotics #HealthcareInnovation #Startups #Networking #Collaboration #Creativity

Technalist @ BOM | [be]grip op AI voor organisaties | Techwatcher & Keynote spreker: AI & Immersive Technology (AR&VR)
GenAI tied into Robotics. Using LMM’s as world model tools. Getting closer to more autonomous robots, and have them deal with “unforeseen” scenarios… Building foundational agents for robotics.
NVIDIA Senior Research Manager & Lead of Embodied AI (GEAR Group). Stanford Ph.D. Building Humanoid robot and gaming foundation models. OpenAI's first intern. Sharing insights on the bleeding edge of AI.
This is Neo, a humanoid from the Norwegian startup 1X. The first skill that any robot should learn is to plug and unplug themselves from power. Roomba is able to do it, and now humanoids too. One fewer task that the human babysitters need to worry about! Second skill: monitor their own health and replace malfunctioning components automatically. Requires exceptional mastery of tool use. Next up: robot hospitals, where they help fix each other with minimal human intervention. Congrats to Eric Jang and the stellar 1X team!

Check out latest Foundation Capital blog post on AI and senior healthcare below!
There are so few venture-backed success stories in senior healthcare technology. At Foundation Capital, we think that’s about to change. LLMs and computer vision are revving up in a way that’s making it easier for AI-focused startups to jump in. Our portfolio company SafelyYou is a pioneer in this niche. Other co’s of interest here: Livindi Intuition Robotics, and SoundEye If the senior healthcare market is $3 trillion, we think 1% of that can be disrupted by AI-driven software. It’s enormous potential upside, and progress here will significantly improve quality of life for seniors. More thoughts in my latest blog, in the comments
