Equal Justice USA’s Post

What is astonishing about today’s decision is that THE PROSECUTOR moved to vacate the death sentence of Marcellus “Khaliifah” Williams. This is so rare—a prosecutor asking to overturn their office’s efforts. And the judge refused. Grave injustice.

Why are you talking to LinkedIn rather than talking to the people who can actually and more quickly make a change? Is it more about attention to you or do you genuinely want to make a change for the better? If it's truly change you desire, maybe you need to reconsider your angle of attack on the problem. It's like talking to the solid waste department in your city about resurfacing a worn out road. You won't see any results.

The hyperbole wont sell as well as facts about #DNA. Throwing "slavery" into the conversation diminishes any actual legal points that you could make. This guy needs a lawyer talking... Not an activist screaming gibberish. Might want to stick with the facts if you'd like some real PR on this.

The movement to end the death penalty has always been a people-driven effort. To date, 1.4 million people have signed petitions urging clemency for Khaliifah Williams—because he is innocent. That groundswell of community action is a huge reason Khaliifah’s case is getting such needed attention. So we will continue to speak to the people and urge them to make their voices heard in our battle against a system inextricably rooted in racial oppression and control.

Appeal the judge’s decision. And hopefully, an unbiased panel of judges will do the right thing. I spent 20 years fighting judges when I was incarcerated. Then one day, I was told I was going home because a judge issued an immediate release order. Don’t give up!
