Ascential entered Stax Top 20 Ranking of Exhibition Organizers by 2022 Revenues (https://lnkd.in/egFiX3w4) this year. Now its major disposals throw a clear light on its remaining events business, comprised of two brands. It's worth taking note. Lions and Money 20/20 are seriously scaled brands, each with £100m+ revenues. They also have industry leading profitability. A substantial part of the strong growth that has driven this impressive scale has been from related services designed to meet the needs of the events’ communities. The events have strong integration with digital media, 20% of revenue coming from subscriptions. There is also strong growth in sponsorship, which we would expect to see in knowledge economy content-focused events businesses. Florent Jarry set out this future path in The Road to Community Catalyst (https://lnkd.in/eBqAcahy). We pointed out that the role of the event organizer is to be at the heart of its community, serving the specific needs of customers offering a range of solutions that extend far beyond booth sales. We are seeing a strong rebound in the events sector with Globex – the global exhibition organizing market: assessment and forecast to 2025 revising its forecasts upwards (https://lnkd.in/eyTuyFwP). However, the industry remains dominated by booth sales at about 75% of revenues.
