I have to wonder how many BDA installations are done with incorrect fire alarm supervision. Just think, if you can disconnect the alarm plug from the bottom of the BDA and not have a supervisory alarm, then something is wrong. Learn more about this in John’s webinar.

WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN IN AN INTRUDER ALARM MAINTENANCE VISIT? ❓❓ - Checking mains power supply and backup battery – including its charging rate. - Checking and testing sensors in every location to ensure each works as it should. - For wireless alarm systems, the battery for each sensor is also tested. - Checking alarm signalling equipment for systems with remote/police monitoring if installed. - Check voltages, charging voltages and battery output, electronic test the battery as well. If you’re getting regular errors or false alarms, it’s time to get your commercial alarm system the TLC it needs. But many business owners don’t seek an alternative… because they think it will be difficult to switch. Wrong! It’s easy to switch to MAC Security Systems! Our monthly commercial intruder maintenance plans start from £25 per month Call 0121 271 0149 or email us on sales@macsecuritysystems.co.uk

Reasons to use a BAFE Accredited Fire Alarm company. Earlier this week Argus carried out a fire alarm take over for a new customer. The system in question had clearly not been installed by a BAFE approved company. Issues identified by our engineer included, no zone plan, only one sounder circuit, mains supply wired in grey twin and earth off a plug socket, incorrect siting of equipment and insufficient manual call points fitted. The customer has now agreed to pay Argus to rectify these issues, issues that would have never existed had a BAFE approved company carried out the installation. The lesson of this story. When it comes to life safety, don't cut corners to safe a few quid, always use a 3rd party certified company, as they like ourselves are independently checked to ensure they are working in accordance with the relevant standards, and will always send competent staff to your premises. What is more worrying, is that based on recent systems we have taken over, this appalling installation was better that some of the others.
