HE Dr. Mohammed Altamimi, CEO of the وكالة الفضاء السعودية | Saudi Space Agency (SSA), discussed "Looking to the Stars and Beyond" on stage, where he effectively addressed Saudi's space vision and the synergies between space and aviation. Key points from his talk include: 1. Approaching space begins on Earth, with a philosophy similar to air transportation. 2. The demand for satellite launches will lead to an increase in space flights in the near future. 3. Strict regulations govern the entry and re-entry of space missions to ensure safety. 4. Space debris poses a threat to aviation safety as it enters Earth's airspace, making international collaboration essential to maintain safe airspace. 5. Saudi Arabia plans Moon missions in the near future, with Mars missions to follow. 6. The overlap between aviation and space necessitates collaboration between the General Authority of Civil Aviation (#GACA) and SSA. #FutureAviationForum #saudiarabia #space #aviation #Innovation

Quite easy to relocate the elevated sensor - emission free.
Kelluu collaborates with the world's best and most innovative companies. For example, we are currently testing one of the world's top compact passive sensors in our airship. When the sensor is airborne, it significantly expands its sensing capabilities. Combined with our AI-powered airships, which are excellently suited for Arctic conditions, can stay airborne for over 12 hours, operate silently, and are emission-free, this partnership is one of the best possible. 👉 Today we want to share our pride for the launch of the Spanish satellite #SpainSat NG I 🚀 , an innovative satellite that took off yesterday from Cape Canaveral (USA). This is the most important project in the Spanish space sector that will provide secure communications to the Spanish Armed Forces and offer service to #NATO. It will guarantee secure communications for the next 15 years together with its twin satellite NG II, which will be launched, foreseeably, next October. To date, only four countries offered secure #satellite communications to NATO: USA, United Kingdom, France and Italy. From now on, Spain joins this group of leading countries. Aldebarán Sistemas also participates and collaborates in aerospace research projects throughout Europe, doing our bit to make Spain a leading country in the aerospace sector. You can read more about it here (in Spanish)👇 https://lnkd.in/dXFjjFmQ Aldebarán Sistemas: so you want it, so we do it. 🌌 #innovation #space #comunications #aerospace #research #aldebaransistemas

𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 Germany’s armed forces, the Bundeswehr, has awarded Airbus the SATCOMBw 3 prime contract for the next generation secure military satellite system which includes geostationary satellites as well as ground segment, launch and operation for 15 years. The spacecraft are due to be deployed before the end of the decade and the contract value amounts to €2.1 billion. Michael Schoellhorn, CEO of Airbus Defence and Space, said: “After the success of the SATCOMBw Stage 2 programme, which we have been delivering since 2009, this latest contract reinforces our strategic partnership with the Bundeswehr, providing them with a greatly enhanced secure milsatcom capability that is future proofed into the 2040s. At a time when Western democracies are challenged and where the European institutional space ecosystem is struggling, we are excited and grateful to develop and build this leading-edge system. Long term partnerships are crucial to guaranteeing essential sovereignty and capability, and protecting our armed forces in the increasingly unstable geo-political environment.” The contract covers the design, integration, test and in orbit delivery of two new Airbus built military GEO telecommunications satellites which are the successor communications satellites to COMSATBw 1B and 2B. It also includes upgrading of the existing ground segment to operate the new satellites as well as operational services for 15 years, with the possibility of extension.

Sydney-based Saber Astronautics has secured a US$1.2 million (AU$1.9 million) contract from the US Space Force to develop automation systems for the service’s space operations. The initiative, 'Windu', aims to streamline the many tasks involved in space traffic management and mission defence. Saber describes Windu as a “Digital Guardian” designed to automate the collection of evidence for critical events affecting flight safety. This significantly enhances the productivity of individual operators, allowing them to focus on decision making rather than routine monitoring tasks. Director of Saber Astronautics USA, Nathan Parrott explained the significance of Windu. “Windu will bring balance to the Space Force. As operators, we spend countless hours piecing together the right tools and data to analyse potential space threats. Windu simplifies this by instantly identifying the relevant information for each event, delivering insights far quicker than a human can achieve alone. It’s a game changer for space operations,” Mr Parrott said. Windu will be hosted on Saber’s flagship platform, Space Cockpit, a widely used Space Battle Management System employed by thousands of operators across the globe. Space Cockpit is an all-encompassing space management solution deployed across classified networks, enabling the US Space Force to maintain real-time space domain awareness. It supports multiple units, including the 1st Space Operations Squadron, the 45th Space Wing, the National Space Defence Center and allied partners. #Avalon2025

It was an absolute pleasure to speak at this year’s Royal Air Force (RAF) Global Air and Space Chiefs Conference #GASCC2024. Thanks to The Air and Space Power Association (ASPA) for organising such a thought provoking event. Day 1 was recorded here: https://lnkd.in/gXigqPn5 There's a lot to unpack when considering lessons from current conflicts and how space powers can prepare for the future. As space technology is proliferating (within existing actors and extending to new actors), future wars will be fought with a much more active space domain. To try to keep pace, we must reckon with the reality that our success on the battlefield is contingent upon investments made yesterday. There is no time to delay in making space power a top priority. 🛰 Also, if you haven’t had the chance yet, do check out ASPA’s newly launched short book: UK Air & Space Power in a More Dangerous World.’ I highly recommend it as an easy read about key concepts in UK air and space power: https://lnkd.in/gsuGnKT4
