Bayes Business School(formerly Cass) | Delhi University | Delhi Public School RK Puram | Charter President at Rotaract Club of Resilience
E sala cup namde? It's a question that encapsulates the unwavering hope and determination of every fan, season after season. Sometimes I wonder why do I even support the team. Supporting RCB isn't just about wins and losses; it's about embracing the journey of resilience. We've seen the team face challenges head-on, yet they never fail to bounce back with renewed vigor. It's this spirit that inspires us, both on and off the field. In our professional lives, we encounter obstacles that may seem insurmountable at times. But just like our favorite team, it's crucial to stay resilient, learn from setbacks, and keep pushing forward towards our goals. So here's to embracing challenges, fostering resilience, and always believing that our moment of glory is just around the corner. Because for us RCB fans, E sala cup namde! #PlayBold #Resilience #Believe

⏰⚽️ TIME WAITS FOR NO-ONE ⚽️⏰ Standards matter. Perception matters. Delivery is crucial. Yesterday we finally got our William Hill Scottish Championship campaign underway against a very well run and strong Ayr United Football Club side. Whilst the final result was nowhere near what we wanted, the progressive improvement & development in the playing squad under our Management Team of John Rankin & Darian Mackinnon over these last two seasons is evident; perhaps on another day the outcome could have been different. It’s actually only on match days like yesterday however that you fully appreciate just how well run off the park that your Stadium & the entire operational infrastructure has always been year on year under the watchful eye of our Stadium Manager Jimmy Thompson & his team of people. Sadly, as with most busiesses what goes on in the engine room never seems to get the credit it’s due or the recognition that it deserves & there are many unsung heroes behind the scenes. To have maintained the pretty much flawless standards and the impeccable delivery for our customer base and visiting spectators that we’ve become accustomed to Hamilton Academical Football Club Limited (certainly in my time at the Club) takes a phenomenal amount of personal effort, investment, pride in your output & knowledge/capability. These outstanding standards and levels of operational ability aren’t something that are just simply cross transferable either. As we’ve now moved back into possibly the most demanding and challenging League in the Scottish Professional Football League, it’s not only on the field of play that our quality, capability and class as a club will be measured across this season and beyond. Time really waits for no-one, and in a world and on a stage where public opinion based on their experiences is shared openly and freely on Social Media, it’s imperative that we strive to have as good a team and standards of excellence off the park as we do on it. Next time you attend a football match and enjoy a beer in hospitality or a Pie/Bovril in the stands, take a moment to sit and think of the importance of the person like Jimmy at that venue who actually ensured that you could be there to support your Team without issue. The fact is you wouldn’t have enjoyed the best movie you’ve ever seen without a great production crew. 🙏🏽 #Gratitude #Awareness #Appreciation #Standards #Reputation #Consistency #Knowledge

Good perspective on time management.
As a fly-half Rhys Priestland has spent his entire career calculating the next move - when to pass, kick and run - but he has also been plotting for life after rugby. The 37-year-old hung up his boots at the end of last season, bringing a close to an illustrious playing career in which he starred for Scarlets, Bath and Cardiff and won 52 caps for Wales. And he has wasted no time in embarking on his next career as a financial advisor after wisely combining rugby with study during his playing days. He was already embarking on a degree in economics at Bristol when he signed a development contract with the Scarlets in 2006. During his time at Bath and latterly Cardiff, he completed an MBA and just last season as he was pulling the strings in Blue and Black, he qualified as a financial advisor. “I never planned to be a rugby player,” recalls Priestland. “I just played for fun, I wasn’t in the Scarlets academy or anything so I went off to uni and then got into the Wales Under-18s and 19s teams. “That went pretty well so they wanted me to come back with the first team. I transferred to Cardiff where I continued to combine playing with uni and then to Swansea to finish my degree when I went full-time. “Looking back on my career in rugby, I am really glad I did invest time and energy into my education. Rugby players, like everyone really, think they are busy but you only need to look at the screen time on your phone to see how much time you potentially waste. “You have time to do things, you just need to find the commitment, the time management and self control to sit down and do something. “Through my late 20s and early 30s I was very good at putting things off because there was a big game the next week or whatever but the next thing you know the next month or season has gone by and you haven’t done anything and you’re no further down the line. “So I am really glad I got back to it. There are time when you kick yourself, when you have an assignment or particularly the MBA dissertation, which was when I had just moved back. It was a stressful few months but you see the value afterwards and once you’re finished it always seems worth it. Priestland is now six months into his new career with Nine Wealth Management LLP Management, owned by former Cardiff scrum-half Andy Booth and part of the St. James’s Place group. To read the full story ➡ https://lnkd.in/eUEVd3Ti If you think you, your company or someone you know would benefit from the evening, please email @rhys.priestland@sjpp.co.uk. the Launch Event takes place in the Sir Gareth Edwards Lounge at Cardiff Arms Park on Thursday, 29 February, beginning at 5.30pm.

#swinghigh (not low) #processexcellence #irishrugby It’s a big weekend in the six nations and it’s with mixed feelings 😉 that I look towards a certain fixture at Twickenham this weekend…..you really have to hand it to the IRFU as an entire organisation on and off the field. Yes the match day team are vital but the IRFU are a real example of process excellence in practise, with focused teams and structures throughout the organisation, enabling and engaging talent to develop and improve performance the IRFU leadership to achieve this sustained period of success for Ireland are an absolute testament to all involved - a clear display of sustained process excellence! 🏉……achieving process excellence is a team effort that requires strategy, collaboration, and adaptability. 🏆 In rugby, a team prepares meticulously for a match by analysing the opponent, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and developing a game plan. Similarly, in business, organisations must assess their processes, identify areas of improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, service and productivity. During a rugby match, success relies on effective communication, teamwork, and quick decision-making to navigate challenges and capitalise on opportunities. Likewise, in business, process excellence is achieved through collaboration across departments, clear communication channels, and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Just as a winning rugby team celebrates a well-executed game plan and teamwork, a business that embraces process excellence can celebrate increased efficiency , greater value, and customer satisfaction. Let's head into the weekend by channeling the spirit of a winning rugby team in our pursuit of process excellence! 🏉💼 #processexcellence #Teamwork #BusinessStrategy #eybusinesssdesign

Counter offers - We've all had them. This could of been the highest profile counter offers with the biggest package attached but true to form... Real Madrid in Jan 2022 attempted to sign Mbappe, the contract was agreed and at the end of the season he was on his way to Madrid PSG in May 2022 offered Mbappe €32m per year along with the opportunity to run the sporting operations at PSG. Employee into Employer, deciding which players PSG will buy and having a input on all the views as a Sporting Director would have. PSG offered a counter he could not refuse. The counter was accepted and all looked to be perfect Now Summer 2023 - Al Hilal offered PSG £259m which was accepted with the fear Mbappe would be leaving for no value whatsoever in summer 2024. Their largest asset, the sporting director and the world cup winner. The counter offer hadn't gone to plan true to form. June 3rd 2024 and Mbappe has been announced as a Real Madrid player, a 2 year saga and PSG out of pocket still. When you've been tempted away, its probably time to focus on the next chapter as Mbappe would of just been winning his first champions league and treble this year! He would of now one the world cup and champions league - everything he has always wanted to win. My personal view of counter offers are; they are short term wins but they detract from your long term goal mainly out of respect for your current employer. What's your thoughts? #counteroffer #Mbappe #recruitment
