At Elcam, we’re focused on designing medical devices for IV therapy that ensure safe delivery as well as protect medical teams and patients from accidental injury. During #IVtherapy, medical staff and patients may suffer injury due to blood or drug leakage. The results may be serious, resulting in irreversible patient injury due to potential adverse events as well as jeopardizing the well-being of medical teams tasked with patient care. Understanding these risks, Elcam developed the Safe2 Rotator (S2R), a unique connector with a spinning lock feature that delivers an extra layer of passive protection for fluid management applications. Designed for ease of use, it fits smoothly into common medical procedures, with no change in working habits. Learn why the S2R offers built-in safety 👉 https://lnkd.in/dH7JVzND #Elcam #Medicaldevice #WhereEverythingConnects #SafetyFirst #MedicalDevices #IVtherapy

Recent changes to the standards for reprocessing reusable medical devices (AS 5369:2023) now requires that the user who removes the medical device from the disinfection system must be identified. AS 5369:2023 (2.5.3.2 Section IX) “Identification of the competent person accountable for the release of the RMD” To immediately comply with the new standards, Lumicare updated the operating software on the Lumicare ONE. Now when a disinfection cycle is complete, the user can be identified with a simple button press before the door unlocks. Lumicare ONE, ensures you remain compliant with AS 5369:2023 standards. #Lumicare #HighLevelDisinfection #hld #InfectionpPrevention #InfectionControl #ultrasound #probes #endocavity

Are Medical Dispensing Cabinets the Key to Preventing Missed Charges? 🤔 In our experience - No, not really. A recent audit at a fully-integrated 24/7 Emergency Hospital uncovered over $68,000 in missed charges in just one month ❗😬 😳 While dispensing cabinets can be great for capturing drugs and consumables, we still frequently find missed charges for: 🏥 Hospitalisation 👩⚕️ Professional Time 🔬 Imaging and Laboratory Procedures Why does this happen? 🤦♀️ Complacency – When most things are captured automatically, it’s easy to overlook the ones that aren’t. 🔄 Connectivity Issues – Problems between cabinets and practice management systems can lead to missed or even duplicated charges. There are benefits, though: 💊 Better tracking of restricted-use drugs 💉 Improved consumable capture (when set up properly and the tech is working). So, while they can be useful, medical dispensing cabinets don't have nearly the impact on missed charges as their marketing might suggest. Wondering how your billing practices measure up? Let’s have an obligation-free chat! 💬 https://lnkd.in/gjw6C6qH

💉 Say goodbye to needle anxiety! Introducing a latest innovation: the vein finder. 💫 🩺It is a medical device used to help healthcare professionals locate veins in patients, especially those with difficult-to-see or hard-to-access veins. 🔬These devices use various technologies such as infrared light or near-infrared light to visualize the veins beneath the skin's surface, making it easier to insert needles for procedures like blood draws, IV placements, or injections. 💉Vein finders can improve patient comfort, reduce the number of needle sticks, and enhance the efficiency of medical procedures. 🌟Say hello to a more comfortable experience for patients and a smoother workflow for medical staff. #medicalinnovation #healthcareheroes #veinfinder #nurselife #equipment #hightech #paramedic #emergency
