Our view is that solid oxide electrolytic cell #electrolyzers (SOECs) will only make a significant dent in the market after 2030. But a recent announcement from Estonia highlights the stage the hydrogen industry is in – in which a disruptive technology can have quite the impact and change things overnight. That’s not to say that Elcogen has changed things overnight, but it definitely brought an impressive product closer to the market which underscores the potential for SOECs. The Estonian #hydrogen company has unveiled plans for a 350 MW factory in Tallinn to manufacture solid-oxide electrolyzers and fuel cells. This facility, slated to commence operations by mid-2025, is the first big take-off for Elcogen’s production capacity, previously limited to 10 MW annually across Estonia and Finland. Most notably, the company claims its electrolyzers can produce 1kg of hydrogen with a mere 33 kWh of electricity, outperforming competitors like SunFire, Bloom Energy, and Topsoe which are some of the big SOEC names out there. https://lnkd.in/eABj3zCf

STAM and Hydrogen Technologies The #decarbonization of all fundamental aspects of our lives (industrial production, mobility, logistics, living environment, etc.) will necessarily pass through the development and upscaling of innovative solutions capable of revolutionizing technologies and their modes of use. In recent years, with a keen eye on the future, STAM has acquired increasing scientific and technical expertise in #hydrogen plant technologies. Thanks to its know-how and a strong academic and industrial network, STAM is now able to develop: - Feasibility studies for #greenhydrogen production sites; - Analysis and benchmarking of the most innovative solutions; - Sizing of hydrogen plants with CAPEX and OPEX analysis; - Case studies and hydrogen #valuechains that consider aspects of production, storage, transport, and final use. Currently, STAM is participating in three #Europeanprojects (H2GLASS CLEANHYPRO JUST-GREEN AFRH2ICA) that finance the development of innovative solutions for hydrogen value chains, in terms of creating innovative technological solutions and international cooperation, strengthening our company's network on this crucial topic both within and outside Europe. #STAM #masteringexcellence
