🔎 Optical Sorting: Precision and Efficiency ♻️ When it comes to recycling complex waste streams, precision is key. Eldan Recycling's optical sorting systems use advanced technologies like infrared and laser detection to identify and separate materials with unparalleled accuracy. From sorting plastics by type and color, isolating metals from mixed waste to purify metal output, our solutions deliver consistent, high-quality results. Optical sorting is the perfect complement to mechanical separation, ensuring no valuable material is left behind. One of the primary benefits of optical sorting is its precision and speed. Traditional sorting methods often rely on manual labor or mechanical systems that are prone to errors and inefficiencies. In contrast, optical sorting operates at high speeds, accurately identifying materials in real time. This reduces human error and ensures a consistent output. 🌟 Explore the power of optical sorting 👉 https://lnkd.in/du2nzSgr

A new system has been developed for producing polymers, traditionally carried out in vessels with reactions in solution, emulsion, or melt. This method faces challenges, particularly with highly exothermic reactions or when viscosity significantly increases. To address these issues, a planetary roller system has been introduced, offering modularity, mechanical adaptability, and precise thermal control. The system efficiently mixes, homogenizes, degasses, and gently removes volatile components, even from highly viscous materials. It operates as a continuous reactor, particularly suitable for reactions with thermoplastic melts. The system is scalable, capable of handling various production capacities, and ensures greater process safety by maintaining low quantities of reactive components. Its precise control over temperature and pressure ensures consistent product quality, and its degassing capabilities lead to reduced emissions and fewer volatile degradation products. Unlike conventional systems, this new technology can operate effectively even at low fill levels, providing flexibility in capacity adjustment. It can be fed continuously with different amounts of solids and liquids across various process and temperature zones. The residence time and reaction course can be mechanically controlled, allowing reactions to span multiple zones with different pressure and temperature conditions, significantly influencing the reaction process.

Everyone is talking nowadays about being environmentally friendly. But what does it mean? And what does it mean to us in #massspec where everyone wants to have the newest, most recent toy every few years? Are you aware that every instrument weighs a couple of hundred kilograms and contains a bunch of valuable resources? E.g. a Bruker maXis consists out of approximately 15.000 individual parts, which have to be manufactured and assembled. There is loads of aluminium and steel in them as well as copper, gold, tungsten, cobalt, nickel, chromium, vanadium and other metals. What can we do as mass spectrometrists to value these resources? Well, actually a lot! We can e.g. recycle these resources by using pre-owned instruments which are still fit-for-job. #MSVision can help you in selling your existing equipment as well as to source pre-owned instruments for you. We also help you to keep them into operation as long as possible with our #LCMS service offerings also for legacy instruments. We can also provide you with tips on how to reduce energy consumption on the systems. What is the share of time in which your system is generating data? Are you aware that some systems have a valve with which you can close the source so that no gas is getting into the system anymore? This has two effects: a\) there is less dirt getting into the system from ambient air and b\) the pumps get less gas load and do need less power for pumping. Our colleagues from R&D have calculated several 100kg of carbon dioxide could be saved over the course of the year under ideal conditions when keeping the source lock valve shut when the instrument is not in use as an API #massspec sucks in around 4L of air per minute which needs to get pumped away. We can also help you to upgrade existing systems to reduce their energy consumption. E.g. modern scroll or dry-pumps have about one third of the electric power uptake of an oil pump like an Agilent MS40+! If you would like to learn more on what can be done in terms of environmental friendliness in #massspectrometry, visit our webpage https://lnkd.in/epSUP96F to learn what we can offer to support you to become more sustainable! #lcms #labequipment #service
