Proptech Labs Acquires reHeroes (Rental Heroes) Proptech Labs the leader in AI first technology solutions for property management, is thrilled to announce the acquisition of reHeroes, a prominent innovator in the property management space. This acquisition marks a significant expansion for Proptech Labs, having previously acquired Maintenance Manager and Inspection Manager in 2022 and 2023 respectively. The acquisition of reHeroes brings with it more than 130,000 properties and 415,000 users under its umbrella, along with 3,200 property managers. Over the past two years, reHeroes has achieved a remarkable growth rate of 386%, a testament to its robust platform and leadership. With this acquisition, the total number of properties managed through one or more the Proptech Labs platforms, will exceed 1.5 million. THE DUE DILIGENCE DIALOGUE This October, Sales Primer celebrates its first year as an official content provider for VANTEC Angel Network. Over the last 12 moths, we’ve been delighted to host a monthly “Traction & Trajectory” workshop for presenting Founders. Helping Founders understand how to incorporate “high-level” numbers into their 5 minute pitch. Numbers that will convey a compelling investment opportunity. Numbers that will telecast a Founder’s fluency in their models. But what are those models? And where will the conversation go during due diligence? The 5 minute pitch is only the beginning of an extensive investor dialogue. Founders often ask how they need to prepare for the “deeper-dive.” There is a natural sequence of topics a more experienced investor will want to explore, once you’ve convinced them about the efficacy of your tech, and its potential for protection. It boils down to three broader buckets: 1. Market Model · What’s the problem and the solution? · What’s life like before and after adoption? · How significant are those differences / outcomes? = VALUE. · How big is this market? · Who’s the competition? How are you different? Better? · How can you protect your position? 2. Business Model – The Three “C’s” · How do you win Customers? (SALES) · How do you build Capacity to serve those customers? (OPS/HR) · How do you establish and maintain positive Cash? (FINANCE) - Minimum Cash Needs - Funding Requirements Over Time - Revenues to reach Cash-Flow Positive? - Revenues to reach 10X ROI for Angels? 3. Investor Model · Investment Amount vs. Pre-Money Valuation · Money Raised to Date · Available Sources (e.g. Equity, Debt, Grants) · Instruments (e.g. Shares vs. SAFE) · Target ROI (and equivalent Revenue) · Timeframe to ROI · Additional Funding Rounds During This Timeframe · Exit and/or Liquidity Event for Investors This is not a well understood discourse for many Founders. Biscom’s sale to Concord Technologies marks ParkerGale Capital's 14th exit of the 21 platform companies we have acquired over the years. It marks our 10th exit to a larger private equity fund (or PE-backed acquirer). As we have stayed maniacally focused on the smallest end of the private equity market, we are often the farm system for bigger funds competing up-market from us. We think this works well for us, our investors, and our management teams. Along with the sale of SMA last fall and IPRO this summer, the Biscom sale marks the 3rd exit we have closed during what many believe is one of the worst distribution years the private equity market has ever experienced. We have not relied on CVs, NAVs, or other products to generate distributions for our LPs. We’re old-school investors — we buy, we try to improve, and we sell in good markets and bad ones. We are proud of our success in today's tough market. A huge thank you to Bill Ho and his family for trusting us with their baby.
