Reverse chronic conditions and transform your health at any age without meds. I focus on the root cause, not symptoms. Proud of my Dutch heritage, a dedicated mom, and a dog lover using functional health.
We all get stressed out from time to time, but did you know stress can really affect your gut? I know this firsthand. There was a period when I was super stressed, and my body let me know—sleep patterns were off, I had injuries, (mostly my shoulder) and my digestion went haywire. Bloating, trapped gas, stomach pain—it all hit me hard. If stress is messing with your gut, it’s time to take action. This is your body trying to tell you something . Because sometimes we are so used to just ‘go go go’ that it feels normal. But our body still translates this into stress. Here’s how I course-corrected my gut health: 1. I didn’t change my diet (because I already knew my food wasn’t the issue). 2. I used digestive enzymes and optimized stomach acid to help my body break down food and reduce bloating. 3. I focused on stress management, but that’s a story for another day. Digestive enzymes became a tool I relied on to help me get back on track. They’re not a long-term fix, but they can provide much-needed relief while you address the root cause. (Download my free digestion guide to learn more about this. Comment ‘gut’ and I’ll send it to you for free) Also, if you’re ready to improve your digestion and nutrient absorption, check out my Fuel Up workshop, now available for only $47! (Link in bio) Here’s to happy guts and better health!

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀. (𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳, 𝗠𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗞𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?) In the hustle and bustle of a busy work life, it's easy to overlook some of the small but important parts of our body that play a crucial role in your health. Enter the Brunner glands—tiny, yet vital players in your digestive system that deserve your attention. Brunner glands are like the unsung heroes of your gut, stationed in the first part of your small intestine, known as the duodenum. Their mission? To produce a protective mucus that shields your intestines from the harsh acid your stomach sends their way. (Especially if you’re stressing out over your new boss) Imagine them as the bodyguards for your digestive system, making sure everything runs smoothly without any damage. But why should you, a busy professional, care? Because a healthy gut is the cornerstone of your overall well-being. Crazy, right? When your Brunner glands are functioning well, they help prevent ulcers, ensure smooth digestion, and keep your energy levels stable. On the flip side, neglecting your digestive health can lead to discomfort, fatigue, and even more serious conditions that can throw off your productivity and you don’t need that. In our fast-paced lives, stress and poor eating habits can disrupt the balance in your gut, putting extra pressure on these tiny glands. By taking simple steps like managing stress, eating a balanced diet, and staying hydrated, you can support your Brunner glands and, in turn, your entire digestive system. Be good to your Brunner glands and they’ll be good to you. As always, my best wish for you is that you Live Well, Lifelong!

Hey Friends, A few weeks ago, I posted about prioritizing our health amid our hectic schedules. Today, I want to share some personal news on that front. A year ago, I nearly died of congestive heart failure. My Blood Glucose level was around 240 (my highest was 261 and normal is less than 100). My blood pressure was 172/126 and I was routinely experiencing a "racing heart". I was struggling to walk without gasping for breath. And I was overweight (230ish). Today, my Glucose is at 119 (still a little high) and my BP was 104/74 (normal). The rest of my blood numbers are now in or slightly over the normal range. My weight is at 202 with the goal of getting it down to 180. The two primary issues I have addressed since being in the cardiac unit a year ago are 1) exercise and 2) diet. As for exercise, I am lifting weights at home and walking up to 3 miles 4 days per week. My diet will take a bit more to explain. Due to the fear of ongoing heart disease, I began following the low-sodium, American Heart Association diet once I got out of the hospital in May of 2023...until February 2024. That's when I began researching the "Carnivore" meal plan based on an "accidental" viewing of a video by Dr. Ken Berry (https://lnkd.in/g6fyETjv). It blew my mind and inspired further research. As of today, I am 100% carnivore. I've lost 10 pounds over the past 5 weeks. And I truly believe this "proper human diet" is the fundamental reason for the turn-around in my blood work. I am feeling better than I have in years. I have more mental clarity, fewer mood swings, better sleep (less snoring), and increased energy levels. I AM NOT A DOCTOR. However, if you are looking for something that possibly could produce similar results in your life, you might check out YouTube for videos by Dr. Ken Berry, Neisha Berry, Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Shawn Baker, Laura Spath, Dante Ferrigno, Rina Ahluwalia, and others who have transformed their lives by going Carnivore. Note: you will probably get some push-back from friends who mean well - but think you're going crazy by getting off the food pyramid. They will probably say stupid things like your cholesterol will skyrocket by eating red meat (mine is 100% normal). They will tell you absurd things like vegetables sustain the immune system and veganism will save the planet. Have them watch Dr. Chaffee's presentation titled "Plants are Trying to Kill You". Note: there are ZERO essential plants or carbs you need to eat. The body naturally produces all you need. Finally, they will question whether you get bored with a meat, egg, butter, and water diet. The answer is NO. Do you know how many different cuts of beef there are and how many varied ways you can prepare it? That doesn't begin to discuss the other meat options: Lamb, Bison, Elk, Turkey, Chicken, Quail, Salmon, Bluefin Tuna, and Mackerel...Get the point? If you're ready for a positive mental and physical change, carnivore may be your answer.
