#NVCOG published a #VMT Reduction Strategy focused on improving non-motorized travel options for walking, rolling, and cycling, while reducing congestion for both personal cars and freight trucks. Reducing Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) matters because it lowers emissions, reduces traffic congestion, and improves air quality, contributing to a cleaner environment and healthier communities. The VMT Reduction Strategy received formal endorsement by the NVCOG board on September 15th, marking a significant milestone in the commitment to reducing VMT in the Greater Naugatuck Valley planning region. Presenting the latest Road Safety Statistics for Greece on behalf of Hellastron at the 2024 ASECAP - EU ASSOCIATION Road Safety Conference in Madrid, hosted by SEOPAN, Construcción, Agua y Concesiones de Infraestructuras. The implementation of a new Motorway network in Greece, along with educational campaigns on safer driving practices, has led to a significant 60% decrease in road fatalities at national level and 70% on the Greek Motorways in the last 15 years. However there is still a lot to be done.
