As Halloween creeps closer, don't let fire safety slip into the shadows! The NFPA reports that an average of 835 home fires start with decorations each year, with nearly half caused by decorations placed too close to a heat source and about a third ignited by candles. A few simple precautions can help make sure Halloween remains a festive, fire-safe holiday. Keep decorations away from open flames, opt for battery-operated candles in jack-o-lanterns, and stay aware of fire hazards at parties and trick-or-treating events. A little extra caution goes a long way in keeping everyone safe. #FireSafety #halloween #firesafety #firesafetytips
