This Technical Tuesday we will take a further look at the testing and optimisation of our electromotor at our partner SPIT . Spit has an in-house dynamometer capable of handling high loads and a wall power supply that can deliver continuous high power to our electromotor. A few weeks ago, we conducted a test at SPIT where we measured the parameters and characteristics of our custom electromotor. This week we will be taking our setup to Spit once again to measure and create the motor mapping. Simply put, a mapping is a large data table with information on what kind of signals (Iq and Id) the electromotor should receive to produce a certain amount of torque at a specific RPM. This is essential to have an efficient power delivery, resulting in less heat losses, a larger range and ultimately a better performing Superbike.
