The great thing about in-house solutions is they will do exactly what you want. The downside is building and maintaining them so they work efficiently. The good thing about software off the shelf is it is ready made with all the bells and whistles. The downside is the investment of setting it up properly is rarely considered or done well (and paying for all those extra bells). In either case, knowing your business and engaging the team are critical. In either case, there is opportunity to take work out of email and create efficient processes that increase productivity and insight, speed up sales, reduce frustration, and improve results!!!

Lessons I learned from 2024 - Part 02: - It's easy to build a software, it's hard to build a team. - It's easy to build a software, it's hard to convince people buy it. - It's easy to fix a bug, it's hard to fix team conflict. - It's easy to start a journey, it's hard to build a mission around it. - It's easy to solve a problem, it's hard to monetize the solution. - It's easy to clone a software, it's hard to come up with a new software.

You know that moment in a manager's meeting when it's your turn to share your P&L… and they gloss over you because the pharmacist is the only one hitting all their sales goals, productivity targets, hours, and benchmarks? Luckily, I do. Good times. 😁 Since I had so much free time, it got me thinking—what steps did I take to get here? Build a Solid Team: This didn’t happen overnight. It took years of consistent training routines, adapting to software updates, managing performance, and using data to get everyone aligned. Focus on Actionable Data: I asked myself, ‘What can I control? What proactive steps can I take to improve the P&L and prevent problems instead of fixing them?’ Align Operations with Customer and Business Goals: Taking care of the customer always leads to strong results. It's pretty simple really. Happy customers = good numbers. What strategies have helped you consistently hit your targets?

2 years ago, I was referred for a role at Salesforce after failing to secure my dream job. When I asked for feedback they said I got outperformed. But they also said I had the high emotional intelligence and think I’d be great to manage a team of theirs. Here are 3 strategies I used in the first 60 seconds to give that impression: 1 ) Over-empathized with their daily responsibilities 2 ) Researched interviewers outside of LinkedIn 3 ) Up-to-date with industry trends their products facing It went something like this: “Hi XXX, I know you’re extremely busy interviewing candidates in the middle of a busy Q4. Not to mention recent industry regulations making it difficult for your team to get in front of physicians while still waking up at 5:30 a.m. to coach Crossfit before work. With all the hecticness going on, my goal is to make this interview the highlight of your day.” After opening, they knew I'd done my research. And the way I look at it, every interview is like an onion. The quicker you prove you’ve studied the outside layers, the quicker you have permission to get into core issues (where you should want to go). Whether we like it or not, strangers assume we don’t know unless we display competence to accelerate trust. You may not get the job but a good impression opens doors. Do the work ahead of time.

First time trying outbound? Here’s a hard truth: DON’T HIRE SDRs (yet). Here’s why: -Not sure if cold calling works?👉 Don’t hire SDRs. -Unclear about your most ideal customer?👉 Don’t hire SDRs. -No reliable list-building process?👉 Don’t hire SDRs. -Struggling to consistently close deals? 👉 Don’t hire SDRs. -Can’t afford a ~$250k investment? 👉 Don’t hire SDRs. -Hoping SDRs will “figure it out”? 👉 Don’t hire SDRs. ❌ This approach is guaranteed to fail. Why? SDRs aren’t meant to test if outbound works—they’re there to scale an already proven system. Without clear processes, accurate data, and a defined ICP (Ideal Customer Profile), you’re setting your team up for frustration, inefficiency, and wasted resources. ✅ Build a foundation first. Get experts to clean up your systems, define your ICP, and establish a reliable list-building process. Once your outbound engine is ready, your SDRs will thrive. 💬 What’s your experience with building an outbound team? Modified - Ronen R. Pessar
