🙌What an incredible evening last night at NAHSE’s Journey to Equitable Health leadership dinner and fireside chat! 🤯To set the stage: the economic burden of health inequities costs us $23,485,000,000 a year, and thats just in Massachusetts! I want to give a huge shout out to N.A.H.S.E. Greater Boston Chapter for hosting, Daniel McFarland for moderating,Thaddeus Thompson, FACHE & Deidre D. Smith, MHSA for organizing, and to the all star panel of Elsie Taveras, MD, MPH, Thea James, MD, MPH, MBA, Adelline Ntatin, MPH, MBIM, MA, RN-BSN, and Michael Curry, Esq. for the informative and inspiring conversation (and the incredible work each of you do) that will continue to push the boundaries of Health Equity Transformation. 🤝If anyone is interested in getting involved to make a difference, I would recommend joining great organizations like NAHSE, Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, learning more at Health Equity Compact, and reaching out to these leaders as a start! 🧐 The question: How do we attain the best health, for EVERYONE To borrow a few words from the panel: This is a battle about being curious, questioning the status quo and raising consciousness. It’s about developing resilient interventions and new systems to prevent inequities from continuing. It’s about thinking carefully WITH communities to develop solutions through place based medicine. What are other organizations and resources you’ve come across that more people should know about to elevate their understanding or get involved with to make a difference? Comment below to keep the conversation going! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

McKinsey estimates that reorienting around holistic health could add an extra six(!) years of high-quality life per person while reducing disease burden by 40%. "Achieving this objective requires scaling solutions that work. It requires dramatically more innovation and leadership from institutions outside of the traditional healthcare industry. It requires fully empowering individuals to steward their own health." We all know transformational change like this never happens overnight, but piece by piece we'll start seeing our healthcare models reflect the full range of our human healthcare needs. And just for today, this research piece is a brilliant boost of confidence to continue the work we do in improving access to holistic healthcare at Circe Health 🙌

As always, JPM has been a whirlwind week! A few of my insights: 🩷 with >20 dedicated women’s health events (I didn’t make it to them all!) - it’s exciting to see our sector becoming more represented every year (a special shoutout to Emmeline Ventures who closed their fund while we were there). 💰Positivity & energy was notably up on the last few years, with optimism for more investments in both number & size 🚀So many inspiring companies are rethinking how we approach people & planetary health - with tech innovations accelerating cutting edge solutions - especially AI, bio, data, digital integration & womens health. 👏Appetite to collaborate was high, with many companies looking for partners for growth, novel offerings, and impact. … and, SF turned on the 🔆 a rare JPM treat. Special thanks to our Baymatob crew: Penny Flicker, David O'Reilly, Santhi Analytis, Ph.D.
Our team have had a fantastic week at the JPM meeting in SF this week. We’ve collaborated with women’s health innovators, met with investors, and networked with people across the ecosystem who are creating real innovations in health for a better tomorrow. Tara Croft Penny Flicker David O'Reilly
