A couple of weeks ago, I departed from Xebia with mixed feelings of grief, thankfulness, and anticipation of what is to come. Looking back, I had such a great time. I enjoyed the Xebia Knowledge Exchange, the team outings with my fellow Qxperts, walking up the Stelvio, doing an IceBath challenge, all the great family events, and more. I learned a lot, shared a lot, helped a lot of customers solve their problems, and gave many trainings on Test Automation with Cypress. Just to name some clients I worked with: • Vodafone • Ziggo • Royal FloraHolland • Volksbank • Randstad Global • OHRA • KPMG • Postcode Loterij • Thuisbezorgd • Heineken • TenneT • Retail Solutions During these years, I became a Cypress Ambassador. I love sharing my experience with teams that struggle with automating their QA as much as possible, and for many teams, Cypress is a good and solid starting point. My years with Xebia gave me many friends. It is awesome to work with people who share a passion for learning and becoming true masters in their field of expertise. I will never forget the impact this has had on my personal journey. So, what now, one might think? Now, I am going to take a nice long holiday, reflect some more, and also think about my next step. What I have found out is that I have a particular drive to help people who are stuck or have lost their 'ambitions' in the IT field, partly or mainly due to not being enabled to grow for a long time, nurturing their curiosity, resulting in no real ambitions. This is detrimental to them and the company they work for. I love helping organisations reignite some inner fires, so to speak. During my time at Xebia, I have learned that I enjoy solving problems related to the automation of QA or Platform Engineering and enabling a great Developer Experience. Therefore, I expect my next step to be in this field of expertise. I conclude this post with a big thank you to Xebia and my Xebia colleagues. I am confident that we will stay in contact or run into each other in the future.

It's about having fun along the way😁 What happens when a team gives it their all? Something truly special. Over the past weeks, we’ve worked hard, pushed limits, and delivered results that make me incredibly proud. I think that some time ago nobody would have thought that we would have gotten so far. As mentioned earlier we had our mini competition and yesterday it was time for the award ceremony. We wanted to celebrate our achievements, but ranking individuals 1-2-3 as originally planned didn’t sit right. Every single person went above and beyond. So, we created honorary titles and let the team vote for who deserved them most. Can I get an applause for: *The best helper during UAT* Marco Ris *The one to get the most done in one day* Armia Zakhari *The overall UAT champion* Baris Polat Reflecting on our journey together reminded us of something important: hard work matters, but so does having fun along the way. Our team definitely knows how to do both! #teamwork #workhardplayhard #fun #celebrating #acknowledging

How would it be to catch up with your tribe👨👩👧👦 after a long time? Well, for me it was like coming home to rekindle the connection, learn few new things in testing world, what innovations to look forward, how to make testers life easier, and much more. As I am exploring my next role, it was refreshing to hear from Cerosh Jacob, the perspective from a manager in the field..what they'd be looking for and how you can dig deeper to understand the role requirement and make mindful connections. Definitely there are lot of strategies a job aspirant to stand out in your world. Most of the requirements for the role would look similar as everyone follows a template. However I noticed the hirers too try some tricks to test the candidates right from the time they read the job posting. In one of the JD, a very long one, at the end of the required skillset section they have asked "If you have read upto here, put a banana icon in your application". Howz that! Another one - see the picture. I wonder "was that an issue with the page?" or "is this another way to check the tester's calibre!". Whatever it be, innovative thoughts has to be brought in the way you see testing, and quality of the product as such. And that's what the gist of Anne-Marie Charrett's thoughts on how we can take quality to its next level... yeah screw testing! Guess we ended the year with a bang to our intellects. Thanks to Paul Maxwell-Walters from Sydney Testers for organising Xmas Double Bill https://lnkd.in/gDKHF47A and Reema Thomas from Onset for driving it through us..yeah atleast with me. :)
