The flexibility of the combination of our Core Fuselage design, coupled with Digital Enterprise and Open System Avionics (AERSYSTEM™) and our on-demand Flexible Aircraft As A Service (AERFLEX™) business model resonated well with audiences who clearly shared concerns about the affordability of essential future air force capabilities. Interestingly, questions focused on the degree to which customers could tailor and modify the AERALIS system – to their preference of sovereign mission systems and engines for instance. The way in which our digital design and open system avionics can accommodate such flexibility very much impressed. “Once visitors understood the AERALIS concept, I was surprised at the sense of relief I could perceive in them; that future defence aviation could and can be affordable, capable and flexible. I’m looking forward to the Farnborough International Airshow later this month (#FIA2024) and to meeting up with some of the dignitaries I met earlier this year at FIDAE - FERIA INTERNACIONAL DEL AIRE Y DEL ESPACIO   There is growing interest within the aerospace and defence sectors for solid-state replacements for hard disk drives (as well as magneto-optic and even floppy drives) that were designed into #Aircraft, #AutomaticTestEquipment (#ATE), #Computers, #RadarSystems etc. several decades ago but which are now failing.   The #Airshow runs from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th, inclusive. Be it drone applications, crisis prevention from space or the latest advances in the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) – at ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace from 5 to 9 June 2024 the focus is on the latest developments in international aerospace. The leading trade fair for sustainability, new technology and innovation is taking place at Berlin’s airport BER. It gathers representatives of industry, politics, the armed forces and science and this year will be the biggest aerospace exhibition in the EU. Under the headings Defence & Support, Aviation, Space, Suppliers and Advanced Air Mobility, ILA Berlin covers the entire value chain of the aerospace industry. Some 600 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected to attend, making ILA not only larger but also even more international than the last event. Around 35 per cent of exhibitors are from abroad. This is the first time that Finland, a new member of NATO, is hosting its own pavilion. On the stage at the Defence Forum Air, representatives of politics, science and the armed forces will discuss projects and visions concerning autonomy, networking and AI. The focus will be on flagship projects such as the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) which aims to develop a next-generation weapons system. Impressed by the availability of #FA50. It is 90%. Maybe someone assumes that it’s not good enough. However, if you recall that the reality of Boeing’s #FA18’s availability, you will be surprised by FA50’s availability. In Feb 2023, Congressional Budget Office announced a report about the F18’s a availability over 30 years. It started from 70% and it goes down over time. Some variants have around 20-30% of availability. (Check the chart at the comment.) This low availability makes a significant impact on #readiness and capabilities of #PowerProjection.

✈️ February aircraft deliveries are the largest since 2019, according to our latest monthly aircraft data. The highlights:     ⬆️ 16% increase on February 2023 with 15,657 aircraft on backlog at the end of February 2024   🚚 New February aircraft deliveries were the largest since 2019 as industry responds to the increased demand for production  📝 With 17 orders placed, aircraft orders are down 87% from February 2023     Our Chief Economist Aimie Stone comments:     “UK industry waits for the return of Farnborough International Airshow this summer, which will be a catalyst for the aerospace and defence trade in the UK.
