What do venue experts have to say about the impact floor diagramming tools have had on their event businesses? Last month, we hosted a live webinar introducing Tripleseat Floorplans after acquiring Merri. Tripleseat Floorplans is a floorplanning tool combining the simplicity of 2D layouts with the power of 3D visualization. Randi Berger (Bushell), Founder of Merri, led the webinar discussion, asking each of our Tripleseat customer panelists about how 2D and 3D floorplanning tools help them sell their spaces and improve the guest experience. When working with 6-8 different vendors leading up to an event, the fact that the 2D layouts and 3D walkthroughs can show all parties exactly what the space should look like before going into the event is a game changer for the setup process. To this point, Chelsea Kelly, Managing Partner at #TheGuildKC, mentioned how a virtual floorplanning tool eliminates any potential oversight or errors that may have happened in the past when using physical printed-out layouts. Her team and vendors can go through the setup process efficiently, working off the exact layout the client has already seen. 2. When giving a venue tour, sometimes an event space may not be set up exactly as it would look for the client’s event - it may be empty or set in a different style - so creating a custom floor plan before or after a tour gives the client a visual of exactly what to expect in the space ahead of their event. Amanda Butler, Regional Director of Sales at Stoney Creek Hotels, also mentioned how she often works with planners who are far away and will not be able to visit the space, so showcasing the hotel to the planner through 3D walkthroughs is critical. 3. “I haven’t booked a wedding or event WITHOUT using a floor plan that I’ve created.” Jennifer Rickaby, GM & CXO of 2Gather Elegant Event Venue, said. Custom floor plans are a critical tool to use during the sales process and can be sent to clients via email in addition to photos and customized flythrough videos. These personalized touches help 2Gather stand out from the competition. This attention to detail can show clients that you truly heard and understand their vision. 4. As event managers who are already using Tripleseat daily, having access to floor plans within each event in Tripleseat makes life even easier. All three panelists chimed in to mention how useful it is to know that once edits are made to a floor plan, those changes will automatically be reflected and accessible within the event in Tripleseat. No extra uploading is necessary. Once a Tripleseat user has Tripleseat Floorplans enabled, all floor plans for an event can be found on the “Tripleseat Floorplans” tab in the event, added into BEOs, and beyond.
