Your brain is your most powerful weapon. David Goggins says that if you don't control your brain, your brain will control you. Even science suggests you can hack your brain for peak performance. The human brain is composed of approximately 100 billion neurons. Early researchers believed new neuron creation stopped shortly after birth. But that’s 100% not the case. The brain's neuroplasticity allows it to form new connections and create neurons for a lifetime. You can upgrade your brain like software. Sure, it’s not as easy as clicking a button, but there are proven strategies: • Learning to play an instrument • Tackling complex puzzles • Learning a new language • Creating art & reading This is only the beginning, but first: 𝟭. 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 My first QEEG showed I was an athlete with mild brain trauma and likely had mild ADD. Doctors showed me areas for potential improvement. They then gave me breathing and thought exercises that helped me. 𝟮. 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝟳+ 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 Sleep deprivation affects decision-making and problem-solving. Sleep plays a crucial role in the growth of dendrites, which help transmit information between neurons. Brain plasticity can be improved simply by sleeping for 8 hours every day. 𝟯. 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 Simple and effective ways to improve brain health include: • Brain training apps like Lumosity • Mindfulness practices (Meditation and Breathwork) • Regular aerobic workouts (Running, Swimming, Walking) 𝟰. 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝘆 60% of the brain is made of fat. It depends on brain-boosting nutrients for peak performance. However, the American diet has a huge imbalance of Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio, which creates inflammation. I triple-dose Omega-3, aiming for 2g of EPA and 1.5g of DHA daily. Leafy vegetables are packed with antioxidants. 𝟱. 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 Top killers of brain performance are: • Refined carbs & sugars • Trans fats (found in junk foods) • Aspartame, artificial sweeteners, & other chemical additives Eliminating these is more important than adding any other supplement. 𝟲. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 Therapies like TMS, which uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain, are making waves in OCD and depression treatment. At The Family Fund & Founder Community, we recently invested in Elemind Technologies, Inc., a wearable headband that uses brainwave modulation to augment sleep without relying on chemical drugs. I’m excited about this new category of "electronic drugs," offering a non-invasive approach to optimizing brain function and health. — Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Sean Kelly for more. The idea that you can upgrade your brain like software is powerful. Goggins’ mindset and the science behind neuroplasticity show that we can actively shape and improve our brain’s performance.
We will always all lose our looks, but will always have our brains. 🧠 I've built my entire mindset behind Jocko Willink and David Goggins. Discipline equals freedom. 💪🏼
I appreciate your insights on brain health; optimizing our minds is crucial for peak performance.
It's no surprise that sugar inhibits brain performance too. Why do we take these things?
your brain is most powerful tool Sean Kelly.
Brain fuel > caffeine any day
Neuroplasticity is fascinating always! We need to challenge=train our minds just as we do our bodies for maintenance and growth!
such great tips!

3dMeditation is the one thing that can transform your entire life. I speak from experience. The biggest excuse is having no time. Start with just 1 minute, then move to 5, then 10. Spend some time alone, reflecting in solitude. It's the best thing you can do for your brain Sean.
