Very important analysis of the performance of Scottish education in terms of equity. Lessons for all Australian states: it’s the curriculum and the instructional model. https://lnkd.in/ge-rTcGZ icommentisfree/2023/dec/10/scottish-schools-have-tumbled-from-top-of-the-class-this-is-what-went-wrong
No surprises there. A system and curriculum corrupted by the ratbaggery of wokery. Same here. And an interesting accompanying photo: female teacher and female students. This would be the much-touted 'inclusiveness' and 'diversity' in action, no doubt.
And does the Guardian seriously believe that Labour would do better?
The problem for us is that the Australian curriculum is set along the same lines as the Scottish one. We need your evidence based approach like crazy!

10moA brief mention is made of the similarity to the French educational problem of a few decades ago. This article is close to replicating the introduction to E.D. Hirsch’s ‘Why Knowledge Matters’ - but substituting Scotland for France. Hirsch’s book was published a while ago now. And there were plenty before it. Scotland could have saved itself from this if it bothered to read up on these educational trends before drinking the cool aid. Let’s hope Australia does it’s due diligence - thanks to your great work Elena Douglas, it seems like the message is starting to get through.
