The process of looking for a new job can be stressful and overwhelming, yet it can also offer fresh perspectives as you meet new people and engage in interesting discussions. This was my experience during a program manager job interview with NAFSA: Association of International Educators. Although I didn't receive an offer, I remain grateful for the enlightening conversation and the experience. In a thought-provoking discussion with a senior manager, we delved into the evolving nature of global #volunteering, concluding that today, merely being part of a social initiative is no longer sufficient. Volunteers are increasingly eager to understand the direct #impact of their efforts towards the ultimate goal and gauge their #effectiveness. Volunteering is no longer viewed as merely an obligatory activity to enhance a resume. As #nonprofit professionals, it's our duty to foster a friendly, transparent, and supportive environment that not only appreciates volunteers but also promotes their growth and development.
