Our interns had a chance to ask a group of CHS leaders some questions at our headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, Minn., in a recent panel event. Mary Kaul-Hottinger, Gary Halvorson, Rick Dusek, and Brandon Smith met with summer interns, both in-person and virtually. The discussion covered a variety of topics including: setting career goals, receiving feedback, culture and employee retention and more. "Always be willing to change. Look at the possibilities. Have agility and adaptability. That's the future; things change fast." - Kaul-Hottinger "At a company like ours, you can start in one place and follow a passion to other places that might feed a curiosity or help with your professional development... Challenge yourself and chase your passions. It's all fuel for a career." - Halvorson "Try different experiences to help you figure out what you like and if the company is where you'd want to grow your career. Always be learning and meeting people." - Dusek "There's always cycles in business, good and bad. Be known as a person that leans in, asking ‘How can I help?' People will remember those tough times and how you showed up as a leader to help." - Smith #CHSIncIntern

🚀 Exciting Insights from the Rothschild & Co. Recruitment Talk at NUS! 🚀 Last month, I had the pleasure of attending Rothschild & Co.’s on-campus recruitment talk at NUS. This event gave me a deep dive into one of the world's largest independent financial advisory groups, a firm I've long admired. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with experienced professionals and gain invaluable insights. Two key features of Rothschild & Co. left a lasting impression on me: 🌱 Sustainability Focus Rothschild & Co. not only integrates sustainability into its approach to problem-solving and client consultation, but also fosters meaningful relationships among the firm, its clients, and its employees. 💼 Unique Working Culture In the fast-paced world of finance, Rothschild & Co. stands out for its mentorship-driven environment. Despite the competitive nature of the industry, the firm encourages continuous learning and growth. I felt inspired to see how much one can gain from a 6-month internship, with senior professionals ready to mentor when time permits. During the networking session, I had a great conversation with Daniel Lim Wei En (林伟恩), whose generous insights into the firm's working culture and his journey from student to full-time employee were truly inspiring. It gave me even more confidence to pursue my specialization in Finance. 🎓 Key Takeaways: - Never hesitate to join networking sessions—you never know what invaluable insights you’ll gain. - Start early, and focus on taking action. Thoughts alone won’t drive progress! While I regret not having a picture from the event, the lessons I took away are far more valuable. Looking forward to my journey ahead! #RothschildCo #FinanceCareer #Networking #NUS #CareerDevelopment #Sustainability #InternshipOpportunities #Mentorship

Businesses worldwide have increasingly embraced the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a means to develop and adopt sustainable practices and approaches in their business operations. It is a multifaceted concept that encompasses many different aspects ranging from philanthropy, ethical responsibilities and environmental considerations. During the internship, the Bachelor Business Management students do a project about CSR; developing a project plan. The project plan results in an environmental strategy or specific CSR results. As all students around the world pursuing the Pearson's HNC HND program undertake this assignment, we expect it to impact the business focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Slightly adjust the ship's course!

"Coming into my interview with Vistria, I was thoughtful about being authentic. It makes the job easier when you’re able to always be yourself. It’s easy to feel like you should adjust yourself to fit into a role or a stereotype of a role, but that’s not a successful long-term strategy," was Sara Woolbright's advice to future PE leaders in the latest issue of Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management's magazine. Learn more about Sara, a principal in our Portfolio Resources Group, her journey and her best advice to recent MBA graduates. https://lnkd.in/gn4dqhC7
