Elevate Labs is thrilled to welcome two new members to the team! Geeviga Jeevakumar is our new Senior Data Analyst. She previously worked at Aritzia and was the primary point of contact for all things data-related for Content Marketing and Purchasing. In her spare time, she loves playing recreational volleyball, cooking interesting recipes, globe-trotting, and reading. Casey Ransom is our new Senior DevOps Engineer. He previously worked as a Platform Engineer at Holdings and Principal Infrastructure Engineer at Daily Kos. If you ever need advice about 3D printers, CNC routers, electronic sensors, home automation, or making visually interesting projects with LEDs, let him know. We're excited to have them on board!

Our Founder, Robert Caulk, is going to present at the Grenoble Data Science Meetup on January 18th, 2024, about how our team is building production-scale retrieval augmented generative applications, using our software flowdapt.ai 😎 . Why did we build flowdapt.ai? To ensure our key priorities were satisfied, including: * 🚲 highly parallelized compute efficiency, * 🤖 automatic resource management, * 🐞 rapid (local) prototyping and debuggability, * 🔌 intuitive cluster-wide data sharing methods, * ⏱ easy scheduling, * 📝 live configurability, and * 🚚 deployment cycle efficiency. It all comes together in our flagship application, asknews.app 🚀 Come learn and grab a beer afterward 🍻 : https://lnkd.in/dZjNMacT

Combination of machine learning and robotics in action. Just collecting more data and with no changes to code, this robot from Tesla is able to learn a new complex task #aiml #computervision #robotics
Super excited to share our team's progress over the last few months. We can now accomplish long horizon tasks such as sorting blocks fully autonomously in a completely task-agnostic way. Just collect more data and we can train a new complex task without changing any code!

📣A storytelling framework for software delivery measurement is LIVE https://lnkd.in/eASF48XJ Now that we have the metrics, what are we learning from them? What could we be doing more or less of? And more importantly, how might we communicate the story so that we make the right decision? 🤩 Our team at Tanzu Labs (Karl Meihofer Caleb Singer Andrew Wood and Moni Gmitro) discovered a storytelling framework as a guide to communicate software delivery metrics. The article walks through how we applied the framework to a real world problem. There’s also a Miro template inside the article to help you get started! 👋🏼We hope you give it a try!

A Few weeks ago we have seen how Zenoh can be used to stream data in and out of a vehicle to feed Autonomous Driving Algorithms. But what if we could define the actual AV dataflow and leverage Zenoh location transparency to run things where it makes more sense, and without needing to think on the correct topic names and connectivity? Here comes Zenoh-Flow to the rescue! With Zenoh-Flow it is possible to describe your application dataflow in a single file and deploy it across multiple nodes, in a completely location transparent manner! If you missed the webinar go and watch it! #Zettlers Julien Loudet #dataflow #zenoh
We've been working quietly on Zenoh-Flow for a while now and want to tell you about it 💻 ➡️ Zenoh-Flow is a real-time data flow programming framework based on Eclipse Zenoh. It gives you full control over the flow of data. If you missed our webinar earlier this week, take a look at the presentation hosted by Julien Loudet during the last Zenoh User Meeting ⬇️

Just concluded 1st-place in Kaggle with a great team consisting of Geremie Yeo, Gaurav Rawat, Young Min Paik, and Yevhenii Maslov in the PII Data Detection Competition, competing against over 2000 teams. Many thought NER is a simple task, not when you are faced with real world cases. See that Presidio just do not cut the task alone :) Our approach combined post-processing, ensemble techniques, and the training of transformer models like Deberta, Longformer and other models across various architectures, such as multi-dropout and BiLSTM, and knowledge distillation. Solution Write-up: https://lnkd.in/g5rzkiMx We continue to investigate various emerging LLM architectures and found that code pretrained LLMs are great at identifying NER too. Due to time constraints and work commitment, we have yet to integrate that to our solution. But the ensembles done by the team is already strong enough to land 1st. Cheers to the good team effort!

Really enjoyed moderating the fireside chat between Karel (CEO @Luzmo) and julien (co-CTO @Cycle), last week at the Hexa office 🇫🇷 Quick tl;dr on "How to ship weirdly fast" 👇 1/ Reduce scope, not quality. Start with the smallest possible version of a new feature. Something you can ship in under two weeks. 2/ Include engineers early in the process to create buy-in, trust & get tech knowledge early to help scope the work. If you're only using engineers to code, you're not getting half their value. 3/ Use NoCode and third-party tools to quickly build prototypes, before productizing it with engineers. We shipped embedded analytics in under a day using Luzmo and added our own call recorder using Recall.ai More insights coming soon in a follow-up article. Comment "article" and I'll send it your way when it's out. 🙌 Had some great chats after the talk too. Grateful for the friendly and smart product community we have going on here. See you at our next Cycle drink? 🍻
