Ravi Sawhney was recently featured on the Innovator Insights Podcast with host Henrik Johansson. In the episode, Ravi shares his journey from the San Fernando Valley to founding RKS Design. Starting as a model maker at 19, he quickly moved to Xerox, where he was part of the pioneering team that developed the first touchscreen interface. This experience laid the foundation for his human-centered design philosophy, which has guided his illustrious career. Driven by a passion for creation and improving lives through design, Ravi shared his simple yet powerful business strategy: make a list of 100 contacts and start cold calling. By the time he reached number 93, he had more business than he could handle, and RKS Design was born. Tune in to hear more about Ravi's journey and insights on innovation and entrepreneurship! "I think everyone can benefit from exposure to entrepreneurship even if they decide to work for the rest of their life in a university, there's so much more entrepreneurship you need in order to be able to get research grants. Likewise, in the corporate arena, entrepreneurial schools are really important. If you're a doctor, some of the best salespeople in the world are like doctors. They've got to sell the patient on what they need and that sort of stuff. So I think the skills are important, but equally to be the next Canva, I think you are going to have to have some innate entrepreneurial abilities.
